I completed two 5-night mattress runs at the Excalibur in Las Vegas. 10 EQNs total so far.
Excalibur surprised me with how decent the room and furnishings were; the casino is kind of crappy.
My tips:
(1) check in at the special MGM Gold front desk. Do not check in online. Make sure that the FDA tells you (A) your Hyatt number is associated with your MGM account AND (B) your resort fees are waived because of your MGM status.
(2) stay or don't stay. No one cares. I stayed in the room for 1 night on my first visit, and for 2 nights on my second visit.
(3) check out via the online app.
(4) my 5 night stays posted on Monday following a Friday check-out (3 days later) without any calling or tweeting.
According to the Hyatt app my two 5-night stays had $232 and $148 of qualifying spend per 5-night stay, respectively. I don't plan to figure out exactly how much these mattress runs cost me because there were other expenses besides the price of the hotel room. For example, gasoline; uber; flights; food and drink. But it was worth it for me. I live 600+ miles away so it was relatively easy for me to accomplish. My time is valuable; not sure how to factor my time into the equation.
Lessons learned:
When I go back again this summer with spouse or child I will stay at Park MGM for their non-smoking hotel and casino and probably spend the extra $$$ for the daily food credit. For such a trip I would plan on staying in the hotel for the visit and not "leaving early" like I did at the Excalibur.

Excalibur and Luxor are constantly and consistently at $30-$40 as long as it is not Friday night or Saturday night, sure if there is a big event like NHL draft it may have an exception. And if you want better rooms, NYNY and MGM grand are priced at $50-60 sunday-wednesday as well.
If you see $150+ every single day you are definitely looking at Bellagio but no others.

Excalibur reminds me of an old holiday inn that hasn't remodeled, I wouldn't call it decent but just ok acceptable for mattress run purposes, as the TV is really crappy with minimal channels that are watchable, and no premium cable neither, the toiletries they use are disgusting, bathroom is quite sterile. Food at the Excalibur buffet is boarder line inedible despite they charge the same as Luxor and MGM grand, both buffets are way better than that

i was just pointing out those that want to check in and leave can do 13 nights in December for the lowest cost per night because Saturdays in December is cheap to average out. Rest of the year Saturdays (and fridays) are expensive but weekdays are still very cheap for most of year.

I am a bit surprised that you weren't automatically checked out after a day or two. My understanding was that Vegas hotels were planning to require daily maid service aka security checks as part of enhanced security following 2017 shooting incident at the Mandalay. But I guess they don't care so long as the maids don't find any weapons when they are making your bed.

The enhanced security part is probably all hotels in Vegas now require key card to tap in elevators in order to go up the floors, in Excalibur, they even have security guard on the first floor manning the hallway to the elevators, make sure you have to tap your card before you can even get to the elevators

You MUST book thru MGM in order to get resort fee waived (as only at MGM it would showed you as gold after you logged in, booking at Hyatt won't show your MGM status), then at check in you need to verify with them that your Hyatt number is in the system, as at Excalibur and at the Mirage when I checked in, they have to enter my Hyatt number manually

Signed up for the corporate promotion to extend globalist to 2024 by staying 20 nights in 90 days. Unfortunately signed up after I had completed a 3 night stay and I won't be able to organically meet the 20 nights without a 4 night mattress run. I can do it with cash for $360 - seems like a good deal as I've used globalist benefits a lot this year on resorts particularly in Hawaii. It's a Hyatt place, could I just go in person first and last day? It's an hour from where I am at so it's an effort to go daily...
