Actually already saw the new pricing i think a while back. Booked the PH Mallorca on PC for September a few weeks ago and at the time saw the price was half points and 165 Euro on a regular rate of 549. Thought it was strange and fast forward a few weeks and the announcement and i noticed the price was basically 70 percent off the room rate for the cash portion.

25k pts for a $549 rate is good but not spectacular.
But 12.5k to save $384 is a great deal. Of course you would not pay an extra 12.5k to save an extra $165 (the pts are worth at least $250)

Hyatt House Austin/Dowtown currently charges 6000points +25% of the room rate.
(There's a reason for this discounted pricing - the location is terrible compared to the HR or HP - it's a block from a homeless shelter. I'm holding a reservation for April but probably won't keep it.)
