Park Hyatt London River Thames at Nine Elms (opening late 2024)

I'm hearing rumors from people who ought to know. Maybe even two luxury hotels.

Wouldn’t surprise me. The economics of Park Hyatt are somewhat mysterious in that you’d expect a market for one in every ultra premium market (I’m baffled they don’t have one in San Francisco, for example) yet they seem to do OK in much smaller places like Vienna and even Cambodia...

Love the brand... wish they had more.

Vienna might be my favorite hotel in the chain. I think PH can work anywhere, as costs are relative. Does not need to be 1000 a night to be top shelf luxury in Cambodia, and certainly Siem Reap is well above the cost of other hotels in Cambodia, but still cheap as it goes relatively speaking. London would of course be like ZRH I assume.

About time. 2 of them would be very odd. I could see hotels and residences though.

Really wanted to love Vienna but didn’t. Love PHNY (I know, in the minority here..) Vienna is a great building in a spectacular location, though!

Far as I'm concerned, can't happen soon enough. And, if they can, put in a tea room, similar to, say, the one at the Ritz.

The logical next point of discussion - what neighborhood/area would you 1) most want to see it in and 2) possibly see Hyatt putting it in but really not want it there (like say, Knightsbridge)?

I'd like to see on in, say, the Covent Garden or Mayfair areas.

Park Hyatt London River Thames at Nine Elms (opening Q1 2024)

We've been hearing from top Hyatt folks for the past couple months that we could expect an announcement about Park Hyatt coming to London in the near future. And while there isn't an official announcement out just yet, it does look like the cat is out of the bag.

Whatever the opening date is, just add a couple years

When's the cited opening date? The article is behind a paywall.

A welcome addition even just for footprint reasons.

The Churchill does treat me pretty well including some great upgrades over the years, but lack of a TSU true suite and the dated physical structure certainly leave me happy to consider other options.
