To view the award calendar for any Hyatt property, go to the Hyatt global map and search for, click on, or zoom in on the property or region of interest. In the alternative, start the booking process; once you've narrowed the selection to an individual property, you should see a link to the points calendar directly beneath the link to the hotel website. Note that calendars do not indicate (un)availability on any given date.
  • Hyatt appears to have updated its systems to display calendar links for nearly all properties. (Immediately after rollout, coverage was notably incomplete.) If for some reason the property you're interested in does not have a points calendar link, use a URL of the form https://www.hyatt.com/explore-hotels/rate-calendar?spiritCode=XYZZY, where XYZZY is the hotel's five-letter code. (Codes are shown in the URL for the Hyatt property listing; for example, the Tokyo Andaz is "tyoaz.") Once in the calendar, you can navigate to view additional months. h/t to Neric for flagging this shortcut.
Not all hotels and resorts offer redemption of suite awards; please contact the Hyatt Global Care Center or visit a hotel or resort's property page on hyatt.com for details on whether suite award accommodations are available at that hotel or resort. I wasn't aware "Do you have" constitutes "demanding". There was nothing harsh about the question.

I felt the tone was harsh. Seems like you’re taking my response worse than OP. Bottom line is I admitted that my statement was in fact incorrect and followed up by contacting Hyatt’s SVP for further information.

Not so much the college party "spring breakers" crowd... but definitely families whose kids are out of school for the week and take the opportunity to jet to Hawaii. I've gone there several times over the years during the March-April window and the properties have always been packed. Definitely a peak travel time for the islands.

For resorts, you might be able to get a general feel for an area by looking at timeshare seasons - iirc, Worldmark has nice ones that should approximate demand, at least for leisure. Really not sure how they'll play it for business heavy properties.

I'm in agreement that I'd love to know how they plan on implementing it. I'd be thrilled if they offered some kind of balance, but I'm not overly hopeful. Looking forward to any response you get, and thanks for asking.

At least pre-COVID, business hotels could pretty reasonably forecast demand well in advance purely based on the conventions/conferences in town. Most of those events require contracts finalized as well as. advertising and collateral well in advance, so it was a pretty known quantity what occupancy rates were going to be on.

Of course the funny thing about business destinations is that most people staying there are on expense accounts, so unless they're a small business owner wouldn't be using there personal points for bookings anyway. So the peak/off-peak thing is almost moot except in as it pertains to the leisure travelers staying at the same location. What I guess we may see is weekends being priced as off-peak at business destinations -- since that's when occupancy drops precipitously.

Of course!

I feel the question is warranted, and it’s a fair question to ask, while also making Hyatt Corporate aware of the horrible possibility of a 90/10 split in Peak vs. Off Peak after all standard dates are decided.

Especially with a 13 month ahead calendar. Hyatt has said all their standard, peak and off peak dates will be decided 13 months in advance IIRC. That seems pretty crazy, but I guess since you can book 13 months in advance they don’t want any issues or discrepancies. It’ll be hard though especially with Covid and the pandemic to determine what’ll be peak or off peak in 6 months or a year.

Is there a timeline for implementing this? Meaning when will they let us know which properties and when they will implement these changes and what is the last day we can book at the current rates?

The press release from last October said the introduction of peak/off peak pricing would be in July 2021. I haven't seen an exact date or a schedule for publishing the calendar of when the differing rates would be in effect for each property.

It impacts all properties worldwide and there will be a 13 month calendar showing Peak, Off Peak or Standard dates. This will take effect July.

yes, they do.

My parents would go to Hawaii from mid Feb to mid March, and we would join them in March for about 10 days. After we were there a few days, suddenly the beach started getting more crowded. By the time we left, all of Waikiki was pretty crowded with younger people and families.

This is why I have been hoarding my points. On July 20, I am unloading my entire stash on award nights for the upcoming 13 months, especially for lower category properties where seasonal events jack up the price (college football, NYE, GABF, etc). If the property goes on-peak, I pocket the point savings, and if it stays the same or drops, I cancel the award reservation the next day.

The whole reason Hyatt's program is grossly superior to their competitors is that you can find pockets of value in expensive nights for low point values, and this diminishes it. If they eventually go to a Southwest/Hilton cash value for points, I guess I am heading back being property-agnostic and use my lowest cost model (Priceline/ID90/etc).

Make your move in late June. As I understand it the change will occur in July 2021, exact date unknown.

Do we know what off-peak/peak means?

Just using cat 1 for simple example. At standard times it'll be 5k points. But then in off peak, what - 4k? and peak at 6k?

Or have they given no word or hints at all.

There's a chart of the points required for off-peak, standard, and peak periods for each category here:
