Please check my maths on this booking
I'm post night shift and need someone to check my maths on this Hyatt Place booking. I'm currently targeted for double points till Oct 31st and have completed the first stay for the new Fall promo.
Base price $100 × 2 nights = 200
Base points = 1000
Targeted Double points promo = 1000
Triple points promo = 2000
App booking bonus = 500
Globalist bonus = 300
Credit card earnings = 900 (Includes earnings on taxes)
Total points earned = 5700
Double points rate $120 × 2 nights = 240
Base points = 1200
Targeted Double points promo = 1200
Double points rate = 1200
Triple points promo = 2400
App booking bonus = 500
Globalist bonus = 360
Credit card earnings = 1100 (Includes earnings on taxes)
Total points earned = 7960
So by paying an extra 50 (40 base difference plus tax), I'm earning 2260 points at a cost of 2.2cpm. I can buy Hyatt points for cheaper with their usual 40% off sale so planning on just booking the base price.
Is my maths off?

Seems about right.
Most "double points" rates are for those people spending OPM under a travel policy that doesn't care what you book as long as it falls under a nightly capped rate. They rarely make sense in terms of the value of the additional points.
