Sina Centurion Palace (Venice Italy) SLH Hotel- Review Thread
 

Hi All,
Hope you don't mind me creating a consolidated review thread for the SINA Centurion Palace in Venice, a SLH partner hotel with Hyatt.

I just had a stay there, and while I don't have any pictures, happy to describe the experience:

Check In:
I was able to check in at 12 Noon, during check in the hotel went over all of the different benefits as this was a world of Hyatt Stay. Upgrade was not discussed, but the room I received was a bit larger than what I had booked. I am not sure the exact category. Hotel has a private dock, for easy drop off from a water taxi upon arrival. Approx rates depending on the time of arrival from the train station is 60-70 Euro.

Room:
The room itself was quite nice, bed comfortable, plenty of space for luggage, and a private patio. This room was not facing the canal but the back streets of the hotel. In the bathroom it had both a shower and tub. No issues with the air conditioning either, I thought it did a good job of keeping the room cool, an often problem in Venice.

Breakfast
Breakfast was OK, not my favorite at this hotel. It wasn't bad, but wasn't good. Honestly on the second day we went out of the hotel for breakfast.

Location
Personally, I thought this hotel's location is its biggest selling point. Its not in the crazy tourist area on San Marco Island. Its about a 15-20 min walk (Across bridges, up and down stairs) to the main tourist area on San Marco. That being said, if you want to be away from the crazy hoards of tourists, this hotel is a great bet. There are still a few good gelato/cafe/food stops nearby as well. The hotel also organizes a free water taxi every evening for dinner to San Marco Island. The water taxi leaves the hotel at 8 and 8:30 PM, and one return is offered at 11PM. I did take advantage of this as it was very easy to use.

Overall
Overall, I was happy with my stay. The only negative was breakfast, but the location was a huge positive for me. I would def. return to this hotel if back in Venice. I did get a 2 PM late check out honored as well. They would not commit to this until the morning of departure.
