Random Reassignment of Concierge?

I was assigned a concierge several years ago. I preferred a different one so I asked if I could switch. I've had that one for at least 2 years, perhaps 3.

Yesterday I randomly received an email from my "new" concierge. I'm not happy about it. I was thrilled with the one I switched to as I have always liked the person - even when calling the regular customer service line for varying issues.

I did send the new concierge, after verifying this person still was a concierge, that I wanted to be switched back.

Did anyone else get an email?

I heard back from my new concierge. Apparently there have been personnel changes and people had to randomly be moved around. I was returned to my original one

Keep an eye out because there must have been quite a few changes for them to be shuffling people around.

I got an email from my old concierge saying she was my new concierge

Also, in a FB group another globalist reported being told by their concierge that WoH has roughly doubled the number of concierges, so existing concierges had to offload roughly half of their current customers. They got to choose who to keep, but seeing as they each have thousands of us I doubt they went much beyond keeping a handful of their top people.

They don't have thousands of us.

I'm just going off of what is said here: How many globalists are left? Anyone know?

Prior to the recent round of new concierges, I've heard it said several places that there were on the order of 20-30 concierges (and anecdotally seems right based on the sample of unique folks I get when my concierge isn't working or is busy). Couple that with 10Ks of globalists and the low thousands seems about right.

How many do you think they have? 100s? It's not 10s, There is just no way that would be economically viable for Hyatt.

I had a new concierge assigned as well, and for whatever reason, my emails to her are being blocked somewhere in the Hyatt system. Emails to my old concierge are still going through just fine, so I guess I'm keeping my old one!

I thought it odd since I had spoken with mine on Thursday.

Rather than reassign people who have dealt with a person for years, they should have given newer globalists to the newer staff members.

All they did was cause chaos.

So the new one concierges are supposed to just wait around for new people to qualify? This is the way to do it but could've been communicated better.

No, the new ones should have been assigned the newer globalists, not those of us who have been diamond/globalist for a decade or more

Yes, it should have been communicated better, to say the least.

Keep in mind that Hyatt also has regional batches of concierge folks who deal with Globalist customers in their specific area.

Europe/EMEA, China, South East Asia, Japan, South America, North America.

I get that. I'm assuming that there's ~35K-50K globalists worldwide, with around/at least half being U.S. based.

I may very well be very wrong, I'm just basing off of the consensus of numbers I've seen here on FT, FB groups, and elsewhere.

Can we assume at this point that no news is good news, or are folks still getting the emails saying that the concierge has been reassigned?

I received an email from my "new" concierge after reaching out to my apparently "old" concierge regarding a stay last week. The new one did just fine in addressing the issue, so cautiously optimistic - but there was not any pro-active reaching out (unless it was pure coincidence when I reached out).

I had an amazing concierge (Michelle J) and received an email in May that I was assigned a new concierge. I'm bummed as she was fantastic, but I'm a pretty low maintenance / easy travel request traveller (mainly TSUs and room type changes), so as long as my current one can do the basics and reply in a timely matter, I'll be happy. Haven't had to use my new concierge yet
