Question on FHR booking

Hi there, recently got approved for Amex plat and the 100k points offer. I wonder if I book a Hyatt stay using FHR and pay partially points and partially cash if this will count as qualifying stay credit and allow me my globalist benefits? Am relatively new to Amex points so would appreciate the help.

FHR bookings are "eligible rates" with Hyatt. You will get full credit and benefits. Be sure to enter your WoH number when you book.

btw, pay with MR points is not a very good deal, as 1 cpp is well below their value for other uses.

Airfare is better deal IF you have Business Plat and get the 35% bonus.

Otherwise best value is transferring to a mileage program.

ETA: Although the upside to pay with points for hotel/airfare is (depending on program) you may accrue additional points on the stay/ticket, which increases the cpp calculation.

Not sure I follow. Paying with points will do neither.

In general, FHR benefits don't stack with Globalist benefits. Perhaps an individual property might take both into account for upgrade purposes, but I would not expect it. Your main FHR benefits as Globalist would be the special amenity (usually $100 credit) and the early check-in (and restaurant breakfast at properties with a lounge, but I wouldn't expect FHR properties to have a lounge). You can also earn 5x points on bookings if you prepay with your Plat card (which payment will be refundable subject to rate rules).

AFAIK the new prepaid FHR rates don't earn Hyatt elite night credits, points, etc. as they're treated like OLTA bookings while the traditional FHR rates are treated like Virtuoso and other real live human travel agent bookings.

False. Expressly reported to earn with Hyatt.

They don't earn with Marriott.

Then do the new AmEx Collection rates (or whatever they're called, for the slightly lower tier hotels) earn with Hyatt? I've been afraid to book them.
