MGM Grand Booking through Convention. How to make sure I get Hyatt Status/Points?

Hey folks, just wondering if anyone has been in this situation.

Have a convention coming up and I was booked into the MGM Grand via the convention site. Wasn't able to put in my Mlife or Hyatt numbers into the reservation tool on the convention website. Got the confirmed reservation number and when I try to add it to my Mlife itinerary and I get the following message

Sorry, but your reservation details cannot be displayed online. If you make your reservation through another website or a travel agent, please contact them directly. If you made your reservation directly with MGM Resorts, please call 866.761.7111 for assistance.
So I guess I just have to wait until the convention rolls around and get this handled at the desk then but how I do I go about that? I already have my Hyatt and MLife accounts linked and have MLife gold status.

This is my current plan:
Go to the MLife Counter and pick up my Gold Card
Go to the Gold Priority Check In counter at the MGM and present my MLife and Hyatt Globalist cards along with my reservation number
Ask nicely to please make sure that I get my Hyatt status and MLife status added to the reservation
???
Profit

Anything I need to do extra?

Also if this is technically the wrong forum, let me know.

Reservations made through third party on-line sites and services (such as Expedia, Priceline or hotels.com), M life Rewards complimentary room stays, World of Hyatt free night award stays, master account group bookings, traditional wholesale rates, media rates, Hyatt employee discount rates, airline interrupted-trip vouchers, or contracted rooms are not M life Rewards-Eligible Nights.

I would be very wary of assuming that a special rate only available via a convention website will qualify...

You'd be better off booking via Mlife if you can...

Definitely check if the mLife rate is cheaper (you'll get a Gold tier discount, which could well make the daily rate lower than the convention block price).

If not, all you can do is add your WoH/mLife at check-in.

If you don't get credit following the stay, you can also e-mail [email protected] and request points, although even for bookings that are supposed to earn points, I found the service quite lacking.

But as mentioned, I would not expect to get credit for the booking.

I hope it counts, it's a ~$300/night rate before the resort fee. And I "not allowed" to book separately and since we're the company putting on the convention, they won't honor expenses for hotels outside the convention tool. Frankly it's not worth the risk to book outside the tool and potentially have to pay out of pocket or lose the job over 20k points and 7 nights.

I'll report back and let you guys know how it goes.

Looks like this is a master billed contract which doesn't even qualify if it were an actual Hyatt property.

Coming back with my data point on this...

I got the night credit and points! Including the double promo! I went and got my gold card first at the MLife desk before checking in and at that desk they noticed my hotel reservation didn't have my MLife number attached to it so they did it right at that desk. Then someone escorted me to the Stay Well lounge which is where Gold and above members get to skip the check in line. I was supposedly "upgraded" to a better view room but I wouldn't have noticed if they hadn't said anything. During check in, I asked if my Hyatt account was attached and they verified it was so my hopes were high. At check out I again verified that my Hyatt and MLife accounts were attached.

About 10 days later now, I noticed a big jump in nights and points and here she is in all it's glory!

Maybe I should add the picture.

That's great news that you were credited. Big boon for convention attendees if this is standard.
