Park Hyatt Los Cabos (Opening 2025)

I didn't see a thread so started a new one. This looks really interesting and promising. Planned for 2020 I believe

https://www.hospitalitynet.org/annou...os-resort.html

Situated on a spectacular site overlooking the sea with unobstructed water views and two secluded beaches, Park Hyatt Los Cabos is a 162-room destination resort with 35 branded private residences. A modern design, influenced by the surrounding desert scape, the rugged coastline and the indigenous architecture of the region. Guests will enjoy amenities including restaurants, a luxury spa, outdoor terraces and private plunge pools.

Original Hyatt press release dates back to 2017

Very interesting.

Looks like it'll be right next door to the Sheraton. I haven't been to that stretch of beach.

navatwal Dec 7, 2020 5:49 pm

Any updates on this property... How is the location?

That's a pretty specific date for something so far off.

No actually every announced property has a specfic TBA date. So particularly this doesn't mean much. These dates often get postponed.

Is this still operative?

PG.backpacker Sep 30, 2021 2:11 pm

I cannot find a construction report for this project and Google maps are not up to date for this region, but a photosphere from Feb 2021 show it's progressing nicely. Though I have to say, May 2022 seems too ambitious.

If I got one of the rooms closest to the water I could get some serious short game practice in.

Construction ongoing...

Based on this YouTube video from last month... construction is ongoing and seems a lot is left.

Anything new on this? (updated opening date - or when bookings will be allowed)

Gertjaars Jul 25, 2022 5:04 pm

No update yet per my concierge

RioAg Jul 26, 2022 12:03 pm

For those that are knowledgeable on major construction project timelines - is there any chance this is open for booking next summer?

avogadro Jan 16, 2023 5:36 pm

I thought I'd bump this thread. Has anyone heard anything about any progress?

CLEguy Mar 28, 2023 11:34 am

Now 2024 per this release.

lc688 Jul 23, 2023 8:19 pm

Any updates on this? Would love to book for 2024 but not feeling hopeful at this point.

CLEguy Aug 28, 2023 1:32 pm

Hotel Hyatt site is live with a Summer 2024 date (and it looks like PG.backpacker flagged already here).

kevinjm Aug 28, 2023 2:25 pm

Excited for this one! The mobile app has a bug that will show the category for this hotel to be the category of the last viewed hotel when using the map view. I almost jumped when I saw it said cat5. One can dream...

I will be staying at the Grand Fiesta Americana located next door this weekend. Will try and get some pictures and report back.

Colin Aug 28, 2023 3:03 pm

my guess is Cat6 max., don’t see a sustainable demand for $1000/n stays in a failed state at a beach resort where you can’t get in the water

Sustainable demand for $1000/n stays is exactly what the top end of Cabo is and has been for quite some time.

Plus The Cape is already a cat 7 -- hard to imagine this being less than a 7 or 8 given that.

agreed. will be a cat 7 or 8 is my feeling. would make zero sense to be a lower category than the Cape.

Please do get some photos! And ask around about whether summer 2024 is likely.

kevinjm Sep 4, 2023 8:31 am

Construction photos

So I haven’t had a chance to ask around if anyone knows the timeline. Make your own judgements from the photos. Apologies for the weird angles and crops as I took these from a moving vehicle.

I just hope they properly install the carbon monoxide detectors...

Wasn't the issue less the installation of the detectors and more the turning off of the detectors?

This property is listed as category 8 on the Hyatt site now.

TBH I think the issue was the carbon monoxide…

CLEguy Oct 12, 2023 12:32 pm

Now "Late 2024"

agjil Oct 13, 2023 11:02 am

By looking at the construction photos, IMHO there is almost no chance this property will open in 2024, and 2025 sounds also a bit ambitious.
My guess is some time in 2026…

Yep, I was at the Cape three weeks ago and drove by the construction site a couple times. It's very easy to see from that main highway, and it was essentially just the frame of the building. Nowhere near close to being finished in any way whatsoever. The location looks solid, though.

CLEguy Feb 26, 2024 8:02 am

Ugh. Early 2025.

angellt Apr 19, 2024 3:20 pm

Anyone drive by here for a construction update recently?
