Double points at MGM

Just received an email on this:

https://world.hyatt.com/content/gp/e...Skylofts_Apr19

Perfect timing since I’m heading to Vegas this afternoon.

Thanks. Interesting that they didn't include Park MGM in the same group as Luxor/Excalibur/NYNY. Even with the remodel, I felt that Park MGM rooms are in the low end of MGM offerings.

Agree. Park MGM rooms though are newer, but not necessarily nicer. MGM is trying to brand it as a more higher end hotel, but I don't see that happening. But with the addition of Eataly, location, and proximity to the arena, it's not a bad choice if the price is right. But yes, it should be in the same category as the other low end ones IMO.

Thanks for the confirmation! … always nice knowing it's not just me that had a poor impression of Park's rooms. The room I stayed at felt like our SLS room back in 2017 during Rock N Rio 2017 - the furnishings/design had a cheapish feel that I'd expect to wear out quickly.

OTOH, Eataly looked like a nice budget place to eat.

Nomad floors within Park MGM are high end as are Nomad lobby, Nomad Restaurant, Nomad Bar and Bavette’s Steakhouse.

Though I may agree Nomad is nicer and BIG improvement over previous Monte Carlo, can't dress a pig and make it look nice. Still a pig under. I've stayed at new Park MGM once and Nomad twice already. Impressions of lobby, restaurant are good, not great. Staff may still be learning, so I'll give them benefit of the doubt. Major gripe is really with the walls of the rooms, on both Park MGM and Nomad sides. The walls are super thin. You can hear anyone watching tv or talking. After a large scale renovation, you'd figure they would insulate it more. You can search around and it's a common complaint on TA and several LV boards. I don't expect that from a high end hotel/establishment, like Aria, Wynn, etc. Material in room feels cheap. I won't talk about decor since that's a preference thing. In terms of "branding" it as "high end", that's what their plans were but it seems that their marketing department doesn't agree. As a rated and comped player with MLIFE, the marketing offers for Park MGM are dime in a dozen. They're literally begging players to come. Their offers and pricing are more in line with MGM/Mirage/MB but a tad lower and maybe just slightly above the MLIFE low 3 (Luxor, NYNY, Excal). I'd pick MB\Delano first even though they're not considered or marketed as high end, but I consider them more high end than Park/MGM. They don't overall reflect that branding. Hence like @iflyjetz, I was surprised Park MGM wasn't grouped with Luxor and the rest of the gang. Just my .02.

AirBusFan2B, I haven't stayed at Nomad yet; I'm sure you're correct that it's high end. Wanted to eat at Nomad Restaurant but wife wanted Italian so I lost.

I'm not trying to hijack the thread or thread drift it, but the thread topic was pretty much covered in the first post with the link. I just want to add information for those that want to stay at an MLife property.
I recommend checking the MLife website (www.mlife.com), logging in with your MLife number, to check for the best rate. You will get all points, perks, and credits that you'd get if you had booked through the Hyatt.com website but almost always at a lower price.
Make sure you save a copy of your receipt; a lot of my MLife stays have taken at least a week to post. It's been a while, but I had to contact mlife a few times to get everything to post.

As for MLife properties, I agree with @easy_money on MB/Delano. Delano is my favorite MLife property (my wife has a thing for Mirage) but I also find MB to have very nice rooms. The only negative I have about the property (MB/Delano) is location.

Agree that Signature is nicer. Though the rooms are a bit older and showing some aging, it's overall better property. The standard rooms are all bigger and all have a balcony with the exception of the Deluxe. The overall property at MGM is nicer IMO. Pool is better, more dining selections, and activities. Be advised though, if you get stuck at Tower 3, it's about an average of 10 minutes to walk to lobby and/or casino. Though tower 1 and 2 are slightly closer, it's not that much better. If you decide to stay at Signature, ensure you don't get stuck and put in tower 3.

In short, not much or really none. Hyatt CC gives you Discoverist status which matches to MLIFE Pearl. Besides line cutting and free parking, not much perks to it.
