Using hyatt points if booked thru hotels.com

Hi everyone. Just a simple question. Thru my affiliations, I get a significant discount if I book hotels thru hotels.com.
If I do this with a hyatt hotel, am I then able to use hyatt points to pay off the remainder of my balance and/or upgrade.

Thank you.

My understanding is ZERO World of Hyatt benefits if you book through hotels.com. That means NO upgrades w/points. You might be able to use points for certain charges (although this is typically a very bad value - you get more value when you use points for rooms). You also won't earn any Hyatt points for the room rate, nor will you earn any qualifying nights towards elite status. In many cases, the Hyatt points you earn (and their value) will more than make up for any discount you might get through Hotels.com.
