sorry jason. i dont get what youre trying to say. sounds like everything is working according to plan. you were mlife pearl but hyatt glob so you did a status match and now youre mlife gold. ya. thats how it works. anyone who has mlife plat matched from hyatt glob is a glitch. almost certain thats not intentional. but i guess it could also be a casino marketing promo. who knows. but those "fake plats" never got an email like the NOIR offers. so what do you mean "mlife sent you the other way"?

I was properly sitting at Plat based on a previous match and just waiting for it to expire. When it did, they bumped me all the way down to Pearl instead of properly to Gold per the new rules. Other people in this thread are reporting getting bumped up above what they're supposed to be be by going to Noir, hence me saying I got "sent the other way". In the past, I never had to renew my match, it just stuck at Plat under the old rules. This is the first time I've had to manually kick the process (since the very first match) to get the right level to show at MLife

i get what your saying now, but being at mlife plat when youre a glob is a glitch. im almost certain its unintentional given hyatt never officially acknowledged it, unless i missed the memo. the people in this thread talking about noir is NOT about getting "bumped up above what they're supposed to be". there was an actual promo email sent out letting us know we were "upgraded" and we are all wondering what the criteria was. we were also curious why now? we speculate it has to do with their rev growth strat.

so its cool that you never had to match manually before, but that may have been a broken process from back in the hyatt diamond days.

go call and find out. its pretty easy. but since the match just occurred recently. RC prob doesnt have the data yet. but im guessing fake noir doesnt qualify since its based on play.

You've got to match Hyatt/MLife every year or you'll get bumped down to whatever your MLife status would be based on MLife credits. You had enough MLife activity for Pearl. The annual match took you back up to Gold.

That's still possible. The Hard Rock Hotel on Paradise was sold to Branson/Virgin and will be rebranded approx. end of 2019 to a Virgin Hotel. https://lasvegassun.com/news/2018/ma...rd-rock-hotel/

I have a hard time believing that Hard Rock's abandoning Las Vegas - a move to the strip would make sense, as it's definitely a better location than where they're at now.

thats very true. i totally forgot about the virgin purchase. so damn curious what virgin hotel will be like in vegas and what HR will do. yes, the HR location sucked. felt like a back alley in the outskirts of vegas. that also reminds me of the virgin holidays office inside tropicana. makes no sense. the office location is also obscure on the 2nd or 3rd floor above the casino off in the back.

This is not true. Once I linked my my Hyatt and Mlife accounts several years ago, I've never never had to match the statuses again. It's just adjusted automatically every year.

This is not the case for me or my husband or many others on this board.

me, too, had to match every year. before being bumped up to NOIR, I was PLATINUM. I was able to match from GLOB/DIAM to Platinum, before the GOLD status matching officially kicked-in. was lucky. Maybe that was another reason that I was bumped up, because I was already PLATINUM? It will remain a mystery....

I've been adjusted automatically every year to Pearl. Until I go to a MLife desk and get it changed back to (previously MLife platinum and now) MLife Gold. Every year in October.

One small disadvantage of Noir is that the member discount for rooms is lower on MLife's website than for Gold/Platinum. But the limo ride should more than make up for that shortfall. ^

as other have mentioned, YES, this is true. however, lets make sure we distinguish between intended vs glitch. what you have experienced is a grandfathered glitch in your favor with a permanent mlife status match of some kind. good for you. a few lucky beotches are also in the same group due to a system glitch which took place during the hyatt mlife match tier re-alignment 2 years ago. for whatever reason, some have a perm linkage. a few have plat forever and some even have permanent noir status with absolutely no play and havent step foot inside mlife forever.

for anyone not lucky enough, a manual re-match is required annually which is how its supposed to be.

what really? do you have access to another plat account to check? cuz it looks to me like many of my go-to rooms are now cheaper than usual during this slow winter period. not sure if you had tried comparing at various properties.

Are you sure about this? I can hardly imagine. I have checked some rates and they do seem at least the same if not lower than what I previously paid as a Platinum.
That would also not make sense, that a higher tier get higher rates.

Positive that was the case when the Hyatt/MLife partnership started. SkywalkerLAX was compled Noir when the partnership started and we compared room rates at multiple hotels/dates. I was Plat.
IIRC, Plat/Gold gets one discount (25%?) and Noir/Pearl gets a lower discount (15%?). Again, the smaller discount is not enough to get upset about; you gotta pay for the 'comped' limo somehow. And I'm sure the assumption is that a Noir's going to get comped his room anyway with gameplay.
The limo is only one perk of Noir, you also have VIP lounge and can get tickets to any MGM show/restaurant in town. (I recommend Picasso in Bellagio - Michelin 2 star at a reasonable price).

As a comparative yardstick, I'll look at one room rate on MLife.com... you really want to book on MLife's website, as the price is lower than Hyatt's and you will get full Hyatt credit.
Bellagio, April 17-18, 2 guests, Resort King
Not logged in: gives 'semi-annual event' discount price of $199.20 before taxes and resort fees.
Logged in as a Gold gives: $149.40
As I quoted above, that's exactly a 25% discount.

I'll let a Noir compare same date, room. It should be ~$169.32 which would be a 15% discount.
skywalkerLAX likes this.
