Without gaming activity you get comped nothing. As long as you play there can be discretionary comps from the pit boss or floor man (depending on what you're playing).

The Express Comps saved in the account are totally useless unless you gamble hundreds of thousands as coin in.

(I was emailed 3 free nights in a fountain view room @ Bellagio, asked for a Bellagio Suite + $300 F&B credit). Of course, once I hit the ground in Vegas, it's usually nonstop action so the last thing I'm inclined to do is figure out whom to ask to comp a meal. I have been told that I can stop by the "host office" (but I get a little weirded out by it, it seems like where you'd go to have your legs broken if you couldn't pay your debts), or that a host could come meet me, but I haven't acted on that yet. Maybe I will next weekend when I'm back. Last time, I ended up paying a very modest upcharge to get the suite I wanted and was fine with that anyhow.
You seem tp actually gamble so nothing wrong with getting a host at the MLife property of your choice. Of course the more upscalee the property the higher the competition/expectation for comps.

Maybe at Bellagio you'd need more action than at Mirage, Park MGM etc.

Currently staying at Delano, first time w/ the Noir card. it took asking at the VIP Services desk (at Mandalay Bay, ground floor off the lobby), and then sending an email to a host, but I was able to get access to the 62nd floor Penthouse lounge. I didn't try getting on the elevator before asking, so I don't know if I could have gotten in anyhow or not. But it really is a fantastic perk -- beautiful views, some basic snacks (cheese/crackers, cookies), and comp drinks (Jack, Tanqueray, etc., also free Sugar Free Red Bull). And the woman who runs the lounge must be the sweetest lady in town. She'll also pour you a whole glass full of booze if that's your thing. There's a theater-like sports-viewing area too. We stopped in twice yesterday... in a town where everything costs money, it's very nice to have a little retreat to sit chill and watch the game in between other stuff.

Hyatt and MGM had definitely agreed on some type of target demo criteria since the NOIR matching program is in its 2 year. meaning, Hyatt and MGM are happy with the current partnership promo strategy. i doubt they would have rolled it out again this year if it made no impact to the bottom line. think cobrand CC strategy rev.

of course, we are all curious what the criteria is because people who have not stayed at MGM got upgraded while some who do stay got nothing. makes no sense. it must be based on other big data that we dont know about like LexisNexis. that would make a lot more sense to me. casinos are in the business of "gaming".

thats because the lounge at Vdara has the same access req as Aria and Bellagio chairman. meaning its tied to the room type. not your VIP tier status. and thats why bellagio has a separate VIP lounge for tiers which is much nicer, but i would argue that the aria lounge beats bellagio easily. of course, with the right host and play, you can get whatever you want at any time.

what was the process to get in? do they even swipe your card to see if youre coded? my general understanding is that you have to be coded or be NOIR for the 62nd floor. i never actually tried. been busy at the bellagio lounges, but I hear the 62nd floor is the best one.

your room key has to work on the elevator and at the lounge door. theoretically you could probably follow in behind someone but i would never want to risk that in vegas. the lounge attendant wasn't checking anyone's creds (and didn't have a problem with a couple of large (8+) groups (i.e. didn't care whether they all had access or were 7 guests of 1 who did).

it's the mandalay bay elevator, so I didn't try my room key to see if I could get to 62 w/ it prior to having the access added. maybe as a noir I would have been able to get access automatically, but both the Delano check-in agents (in the VIP check-in area) and the MB vip desk agents said that access had to be added by a host.

fantastic - thanks for sharing.

I had never heard of Delano before the Black Friday MGM sale and decided it was worth a visit esp as I like the Mandalay pools, restaurants etc. Would love FS but not at 5x the price.

Have never used any MLife perks as last time we visited we started at Wynn and Venetian (highly recommend both). So will be interesting to see if Gold has any value at Delano. Hopefully at least a strip view room upgrade from the base rate, without using the $20 trick.

I mean, gold will get you free Valet and some modest discount on room rates and gift shop. You might get lucky with a high floor or strip view, but I feel like your odds of getting that have little to do with card color.

The walk from the MB front lobby to the Delano lobby is a hike, but I find the Delano valet entrance and general lobby/bar/reception area to have a nice/relaxing/upscale aesthetic. Also the room service has always been quick and very good quality, but make sure to order breakfast in advance the night before if you can.

for all mlife tier benefits, you can refer to the published benefits, but to really "enjoy" the casino programs you need a capable host.

thank you so much for the quick response and detail. given the nature of the 62nd floor, im sure youre right. host sponsor required. although as a NOIR, its simply a matter of asking vs if you were a plat or lower, significant play is required.

Yes, based on my interactions with the "VIP" squad, I'm inclined to think that's right (that a noir will have it added upon asking but you still have to ask). I will say the host experience was grossly underwhelming -- it was strange because I went over a long weekend, and all 3 of the prospective hosts whose cards the VIP desk gave me were out of town. (One of the out of town hosts quickly added the 62nd floor access by email but didn't circle back as to anything else.) Despite considerably higher play than usual for me, it took two phone calls and what felt like unnecessary haggling to get even a small concession in the way of F&B comps. Unlike at MGM National Harbor, the floor men in the high limit area at MB at least acted entirely powerless to comp a meal, etc. All that reaffirms my previous position with regard to Vegas hosts which is that it's not worth the effort for someone like me who usually has non-gamblers in tow (the non-gamblers love to watch me play black-chip blackjack and have a drink or two, but sitting in a host office or waiting while I'm on hold for 10 minutes? not so much).

Meanwhile back at MGM National Harbor, I went again the other night and easily got the same treatment as before -- $120 for booze at the blossom bar ($60 up front, $60 later), and $200 towards dinner at Ginger (most of which was spent on liquid, but the food wasn't bad). As with prior visits, when the floor man comes over to scan my card in, I ask him if he can comp some drinks, he hangs onto the card until the appropriate manager is around to OK it, and that's that. After about 30 min of play, I make the ask for another round of drinks + dinner. On each occasion, I was winning at the time of the second ask, so it may be tied to play and theoretical loss but it's not tied to actual loss.

Stayed at the Delano last weekend and the process is a real pain and not worth it IMHO.

First, you need a Mandalay host to code you for access, your room key wont work automatically in the Mandalay elevators to get to the 62nd floor. I tried that at first.

Second, unless you have a host already, theres a good chance no one will actually set this up for you. I emailed with a host in advance who said he would take care of it, but when I checked in at the Delano it was not anywhere to be found on my reservation. A nice Delano front desk clerk added it but ONLY after I named my Mandalay host and showed him my email correspondence. Dont expect the front desk folks to just give you access.

Third, the hours are quite limited: Fri-Sun only, 8am-6pm (they start closing before 6pm in reality).

Fourth, youll find far better food offerings at a run of the mill HR club. No hot food at all. Breakfast spread was yogurt, fruit, croissants, and individual boxes of cereal. Anything besides coffee to drink and youll need to ask the attendant. Afternoon spread was cheese and crackers, fruit, and cookies. They do have a mid-shelf bar and the lounge attendant (who is very nice, to the point of being overbearing) also handles the bar.

I will not bother going through the effort to get this set up on future stays.

.
But that's the whole point - to get perks based on status match or through other means, i.e. $20 trick. Any gambler can get a host and have play tracked for comps. But many of us don't plan to play that game.

I was under the impression, that the comped NOIR status was granted for 2 years. I still have NOIR status. Considering MGM usually resets the status on 10/1, it seems they have extended.
Still unsure if I'll ever be able to really make use of this status, considering we cannot travel to the US.
Also, I noticed that Limo service is now complimentary to AND from the airport, previously I believe it was just any one direction. Lounge access was not granted when I was there in 2018, but it seems now it is given as well based on other reports on FT.

THIS will be the second year that I get annoyed that IM NOT invited NOIR. (if that's the case)

As of today 88 nights HYATT. In past 12 years, NOT Diamond/Globalist ONE YEAR of 12.
My MLIFE Tier POINTS are 337862 Year To Date.

Doesn't make me happy. Makes me want to go back to Caesars.
I assume they haven't made anyone NEW NORI, like last year. Still annoying. Would of had 120 nights HYATT min this year, and more Vegas stays.NON Pandemic. #annoyed

Platinum. yay.

fully understand your frustration. especially since the mechanics behind being invited or not are completly unclear.
I'd gift it to you if I could...
