Hyatt has entered into a franchise agreement with Resolution Property, which has teamed up with specialist real estate firm Berkeley Capital Group, to develop a Hyatt Place hotel at Black Lion House on Whitechapel Road in Aldgate.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE:H) announced today that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a franchise agreement with Resolution Property, which has teamed up with specialist real estate firm Berkeley Capital Group, to develop a Hyatt Place hotel at Black Lion House on Whitechapel Road in Aldgate. Hyatt Place London City/East will be a 280-room hotel managed by Cycas Hospitality and will mark the fourth collaboration with Cycas Hospitality on select service Hyatt hotels in Europe.
The Hyatt Place brand is rooted in extensive consumer insights indicating that guests seek stylish, comfortable, seamless experiences that accommodate their lifestyles and familiar routines. To embody this, the brand offers casual hospitality and purposeful service in a smartly designed, tech-forward and contemporary environment.
Slated to open in 2020, Hyatt Place London City/East will be the third Hyatt Place hotel in Greater London, joining Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport and Hyatt Place West London/Hayes. It will feature a ninth-floor hotel lounge and terrace providing scenic views across London, a flexible meeting room concept, further lobby area, inner courtyard, gym, and a grab-and-go food market.

Ninth floor lounge? Presumably not an executive lounge, but more like the usual HP bar/ food market.

I've stayed at all the Hyatt properties in the London area, and certainly welcome this fifth property. Bring 'em on: there's no such thing as Too Many Hyatts. Location of this one will be great: less than a mile from Andaz Liverpool Street and hopefully at a much lower price point. Eagerly awaiting the grand opening.

I tried look up the price on some dates, but Hyatt app said property not available despite April 1st opening date.

I missed the part about it being a Cat 3. Good way for me to use up my points because London is so expensive! It would be nice if there were some sample cash rates though.

a lot closer to Aldgate East and still zone 1. Would have been better if a hyatt house and then would make me switch here for sure from the residence inn near the tower bridge because of the kitchenette.

It's OK for Heathrow T1-2-3 though with the direct bus and a 10-minute walk. I do prefer the rooms and breakfast to the HP on Bath Road, so I'll do most of my quick London stopovers at Hayes...

LOL. You take an excruciatingly slow bus ride to Ealing Broadway or Ealing Common and then the Tube or train to get into London. 1+ hour each way, which you somehow justify by paying £50 for those Hyatt night credits instead of £250...
It's OK for Heathrow T1-2-3 though with the direct bus and a 10-minute walk. I do prefer the rooms and breakfast to the HP on Bath Road, so I'll do most of my quick London stopovers at Hayes...
