I ended up using Golden Bird myself. An initial quote of 300 something was quickly discounted to 250k when I started moving onwards... It simply comes down IMO to whether you prefer to pay $10 more to have somebody waiting for you or whether you don't mind dealing with the various hawkers shouting "taxi" at you. (especially if it's your first time in Bali)
Years ago, the hotel charged 140 or 150k for Golden Bird service, but of course prices do increase.

A note of caution for anyone planning to visit this property - there is an intense smoky haze of pollution from garbage / plastic "recycling" / construction debris being burned in Sanur every morning from before sunrise until 10am. You can even smell it in the rooms. If you value your health I seriously wouldn't recommend using the gym or eating breakfast outside until after 10am when the air improves - especially if you have small children.
The outdoor air during the day from 10am-5pm is actually good, then it gets worse 5-7pm (more trash burning but not as much as the morning I guess?), then by 7pm-11pm it's good again. Things may improve November-March during rainy season.

The source of the pollution is just as concerning since a lot of pollution here in Indonesia comes from open waste burning. There may be a significant local source close to the hotel as well.
I wasn't expecting great air since Sanur is part of Depansar which is the capital city of Bali and home to ~1 million people, but the air is noticeably worse than I remember it being in previous years and I wanted to let others know. This could be due to any number of factors - the huge recent spike in tourism, unconstrained development, personal vehicle proliferation as incomes rise, or low grade plastic "recycling" after China's plastic imports ban flooded all of Southeast Asia with garbage from the developed world. Its a toxic soup
For reference: "Unhealthy" AQI is 151 to 200. Everyone may begin to experience some adverse health effects, and members of the sensitive groups may experience more serious effects.

It is very smoky again this morning. Just measured the AQI outside my room and it is 170 - "Unhealthy". That the air at the Hyatt Regency Bali is frequently bad enough to be a health concern is not really disputable.

I stand by my recommendation to avoid spending any time outdoors or in the gym before 10am if possible. Since the air conditioning at this property appears to pull in outdoor air I'd recommend bringing / borrowing / purchasing a proper air filter for the room as well.
Being a frequent traveler I try to take environmental health risks seriously - especially when visiting developing countries - and the air here in the morning can be worse than the "haze" in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok etc.. I'm not saying don't visit Sanur (or Bali) just be aware of the reality of the environmental problems here and protect your health accordingly ^

FWIW I stayed here for 5 nights a few weeks ago, walked around the shore early in the morning on a few days, and don't remember seeing any trash burning or pollution, or smelling anything funny.
Also zero noise from construction. I was in building 2. Loved this place.

Thanks for the reports about the air quality around the hotel vicinity. Is this more of a problem in certain times of the year or more of a year-round issue?
There are some places where I have enjoyed being at in the past but where the current air pollution hit is such that it can keep me from visiting or from staying too long.

The open burning of garbage in Indonesia is a thing year round, but other sources of air pollution are more seasonal. The weather plays a big role too.
The best air quality window is December-January and the second best is February-March. The worst air quality window is April-November - especially during the June-August high season due to the near total lack of rain combined with the additional traffic pollution from tourists.

Has anyone used the spa at the Hyatt Regency Bali? What do they charge for massages and other services? Was trying to find the spa menu online, alas there's not one posted. I know massages and spa services are cheap and plentiful in Bali, but we like getting massages in the evening and just being able to go back to the room afterwards, so would not mind overpaying within reason.
