There is a Hyatt sub-forum for everything related to SLH, benefits, reviews, etc...

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/small-luxury-hotels-slh-772/

would be nice if the forum would get a boost Cheers 59Impala

Paid stays are 10%+ cheaper if booked as an SLH member on its website. It, also, includes continental breakfast. (note from @59impala. I paid a 30% premium for The Plymouth Southbeach.) (antonius66 I observed 10-30% premiums for 2 hotels in Portugal over SLH direct, closer to 50% over OTAs)
A limited number of reviews of SLH properties may be found in the Other Hotel Chains Forum.
World of Hyatt members can earn 5 Base Points for every $1 USD spent on qualifying room rates and can redeem points for free nights at participating SLH hotels. It doesn't stop there, members can also enjoy exclusive in-hotel benefits when staying at a participating SLH hotel.
Complimentary continental breakfast for two
Complimentary Wi-Fi
Early check-in 12:00pm (based on availability at check-in)
Late check-out 2:00pm (based on availability at check-in)
One category room upgrade (based on availability at check-in)

Why couldn't you have booked through Hyatt with the Citi Prestige concierge to get the points? Or, I assume the rate was higher?

I would check to see if CWT cannot rebook through hyatt. That way you would not have to fight for it.

Otherwise, you can check with the property, but I strongly suspect points are only accrued on bookings made through Hyatt under their rate code. That’s how it works with LHW leaders club, or with spg/marriott and “design hotels”

I'll check with the concierge; however, the rate package I have isn't showing up on the Hyatt website....

Has someone tried a points redemption at SLH? If so, were the correct number of points taken out of your account? I booked a property at 30k pts per night, the confirmation screen said 30k pts per night, but my account history shows 40k pts per night were taken out.

Checked for the Viceroy in Ubud, Bali.

Hyatt: $560 or 30k points
Orbitz: $450 (-10% coupon)

Breakfast is free with Orbitz and it's a VIP Hotel so should get Upgrade as Orbitz Platinum as well.

Good redemption value for Hyatt points though.

So… I can't seem to find an authoritative source on what how the partnership actually works. I think we should make a wiki.

I'm gathering that we earn full points and nights as usual, and get free breakfast as globalist, but otherwise will get treated as a nobody. Does that sound about right?

I'm considering a stay at the Taipei location.

That sounds to me like there are no benefits to having any kind of status. Basically, you're back to being a nobody at SLH hotels. I guess it's nice to have in a pinch, but I decided against it and am staying at the brand new Courtyard instead.

These aren't Hyatt hotels. These hotels partner with world of hyatt to allow members to earn and burn points.

Do you think you'll be treated like a 'somebody' at a Courtyard or at a luxury hotel?

I think I'll take my chances with the brand new Courtyard given real elite benefits, a brand new property that looks nicer, and better reviews, and a cheaper rate to seal the deal.

I don't expect to get good service anywhere in Taipei, but at least I'll have a club lounge to hang out in.

In Asia, some CYs have them or have had them.

But SLH properties are generally more luxurious than Courtyards. Whether or not SLH is good value for money/points or not, that's very subjective.
