Hyatt & Small Luxury Hotels Of The World Announce Partnership MASTER THREAD

Several of the blogs are reporting that later this year Hyatt Hotels will form a partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (about 500 properties) where you'll be able to earn and redeem points at SLH hotels and resorts.

Definitely positive in my opinion. Will be interesting to see the rest of the details when they are announced.

WAAAAAY too early with no details yet for me to get even mildly excited. Cautious optimism at best at this point.

Has the potential to be some very good news but not going to get overly excited till we get the details either. Sounds similar to what SPG did with Design Hotels a while ago.

I believe this partnership makes can make Hyatt’s smaller footprint much easier now to tolerate

Hyatt seems to be acquiring a real menagerie of dogs, cats and exotics. I'm not sure how all of these brands and "experiences" are suppose to relate to each other.

Why would how they relate to each other matter? It gives consumers different options which is what the other hotel operators do.

Presumably the brand (in this case, "Hyatt") means something more than a miscellaneous group of hotels.

I received a email from Leading Hotels of the World that in September the LHW program will be “enhancing”. I know SLW and LHW are not connected, but definitely made me take a second look at the email when I read that Hyatt is partnering with SLW.

The launch is targeted for the end of the year.

Browsing around some of the destinations, this would fill in a lot of gaps in Hyatt's map that previously annoyed and surprised me. Some of the properties are a bit out of my price range, but overall I think this is likely a positive move.

While this partnership will develop help Hyatt's footprint in Europe, a quick glance also looks favorable for the Caribbean as SLH has 23 resorts and hotels in that region.

Lots of very expensive properties but also a lot that look reasonably doable. If the properties function as normal Hyatt hotels with regard to glob benefits, then this would be great. If not...well we'll see.

https://www.cntraveler.com/story/hya...oyalty-programHyatt Hotels is adding Small Luxury Hotels of the World to its rewards portfolio, meaning you’ll soon be able to earn and redeem World of Hyatt points when staying at more than 500 properties under the SLH umbrella. Both brands say the tie-up of rewards programs will go into effect by “the end of the year.”

The SLH partnership will add another 500 or so luxury hotels on top of that—places like 11 Cadogan Gardens in London, Ch teau La Chenevière in Normandy, or La Pavillon de la Reine in Paris

I love La Pavilon de la Reine, and look forward to learning how many points it takes to stay there per night.

if not - just treat them as upscale hyatt place - no upgrades or perks but more expensive and hopefully better hotels that earn points.

I suspect it will be akin to Design Hotels partnership with SPG. i.e. WoH points earning and redemption at SLH properties but no elite benefits. Wonderful news nonetheless. :)
