World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes

Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
  • Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
Additional Free Night Award (Category 1-4) with $15k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
  • The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
  • Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards)
Two Additional Night Credits with every $5k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
  • This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
  • For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the transaction date (not the posting date) of the triggering transaction, not the statement closing date. For example, December 2020 transactions with transaction dates during billing cycles ending in January 2021 will count toward the 2020 status year, not 2021.
Other Benefits
  • 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
  • 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Discoverist status every year
  • 5 qualifying night credits every year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel & purchase coverage

Other notes and tips

Chase spending tracker
  • The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
  • Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
  • Chase website: From the account page, in the "Things you can do" menu, choose "Spending Summary"
  • Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
  • Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

In terms of your EQNs, I don't have a firm answer, but based on the timing of everything, it doesn't really matter if you still have it on your WOH account versus if you have it later? I mean if they do claw it back, it shouldn't be a big deal to just spend back up to the 5K limit to get the 2 EQNs back right?
Thank you for your reply. First question answered already.

Second questions ( have it later? and spend back up to the 5K limit ?), thats why I asked and why I changed the deposit from the personal card to the biz card. I dont plan to spend back to the 5K threshold for the personal card, probably end up several hundred $$ short, would rather put the spend on the biz card toward the 10K threshold.

My gut is that it will not be clawed back, some credit card spend based bonuses do not include returns in the calculation.

But I would combine achieving Globalist with stays and spend because I can't see myself reaching 60 nights just on stays.

Alternatively, I noticed that you get 5 nights of credit per $10k spend on the Hyatt Biz card but you don't get any free night certs as far as I can tell so not sure which way is better for spending your way to Globalist.
The $15k free night on the personal card is just once per year.

My bad, I thought it was repetitive like the spend for EQNs. In that case, you're right there isn't much justification to put that amount of spend on a Hyatt card that would most likely serve you better on another card (even if just 1.5x on an unlimited card).

Odd...anyone recently notice your WOH points from the CC spend not posting as timely as normal? My WOH account usually posts my points from the CC spend on the 11th of each month, but I didn't see it today. Anyone have a delay like that happen recently?

I did not receive it, but finally got through the Chase b.s. to find out there is some sort of issue and the cat 4 certs have been delayed a number of weeks. I asked for 15k points in lieu of cert since I was actually going to use it for a stay in a couple weeks.

just a rant but my original inquiry to where my cert was resulted in a letter being mailed to me with the terms of the free night award I called in livid that they were wasting my time before someone finally dug into it.

It has been several years since I received a meaningful response from Chase on the first iteration of a query--about anything. It's like a cheap bot does word matching and spits out a canned response that any human with high school reading comprehension would know does not answer the question. (Yeah, I've been livid, too.)

was the whole $15k transacted between Jan 1-16?

I remember the $15k cert was deposited into the account than the anniversary certs. should be a few days after your normal points hit the account.

forgot the word "faster"... historically the $15k certs are deposited faster than the anniversary certs.

i'm coming up to my $15k spend but trying not to go over so early so the validity won't start so early.

Hi, question about stacking the annual 5 EQNs, have looked in the forum but can not find this question addressed. I have received the 5 for 2022. If I cancel my card and sign up for a new card, will I receive another 5 EQNs in 2022 after opening the new card? Will they try to claw back the first 5? I am well beyond the 24 months to qualify for a new bonus and under 5/24 so those are non-issues.
Many thanks!
