World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes

Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
  • Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
Additional Free Night Award (Category 1-4) with $15k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
  • The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
  • Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
Two Additional Night Credits with every $5k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
  • This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
  • For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
  • World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
Other Benefits
  • 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
  • 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Discoverist status every year
  • 5 qualifying night credits every year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel & purchase coverage

Other notes and tips

Chase spending tracker
  • The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
  • Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
  • Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
  • Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
  • Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

Spend at MGM properties

I looked through the thread and sorry if I missed it, but does anyone know if using this card at MGM properties will get you the 4X bonus earnings?

Can anyone who has confirmed with Hyatt share if spend in December (but after Dec closing statement date) will count toward earning elite status?

So I posted this last month, and now I'm REALLY concerned: Here's my timeline:

Last new account bonus received on old Hyatt Visa: 7/11/2016
Old Hyatt Visa canceled: 6/29/2018
New WOH Visa approved: 8/2/2018
5 qualifying nights added: 8/8/2018
$6K spend complete: 8/12/2018
First statement date: 8/14/2018 - no 60k bonus
Second statement date: 9/14/2018 - still no 60k bonus

After the first statement, I received the 6000 spend points. However, I did not receive the 60K sign-up bonus. Second statement closed a few days ago and I noticed that the 60k bonus STILL did not post.

One thing I'm really concerned about... my old Hyatt Visa still had a -$75.00 annual fee credit which posted after I canceled the card on 6/29. This just finally kicked out as a refund check a week ago. Does this mean that card was still registered as open? On my Chase account, it said the account was closed. Would this affect the sign-up bonus in any way?

Has anyone experienced this? Should I give Chase a call to ask? Thanks for any suggestions.

Chase sign-up bonuses seem to be posting slower for several different cards right now. I wouldn't worry just yet.

It seems its everybody. I have seen a lot of reports of the same a couple of post back and no one has posted an update. So thank you for posting. I also completed my spending some time ago and only the regular points posted. No sign up bonus points yet.

Thanks for the responses. I'm a little bit relieved to hear this seems to be a more common experience than I imagined. Ok, I'll wait another statement and see if the 60k bonus posts. If not, I'll contact Chase. Thanks again.

Old card canceled in July.
New card applied/approved 10 days later in August.
5 nights hit. approx 1 week.
Spend completed by 9.15.
Statement closed. No bonus.
contacted chase and they confirmed bonus offer and told me to wait until second statement closed.

I noticed this happened w/ Marriott biz card as well, took two statements for bonus to hit. Seems on track?

The 60,000 points for my spend didn't post until last week which was after the close of my second statement.

I got the card in early July. I have passed 15K in spending but my free cat1-4 hasn't posted yet (though, my night bonuses and points have). Has anyone gotten the 15K bonus night yet and care to share when it posted?

Yes - got mine a while ago. Can't remember the exact timing, but I'm pretty sure it was after a statement close. Have you had that happen since?

Yes, On Sept 20th, my statement closed (the third statement cycle since converting the old card to the new card). On Stp 21st at 6:00 PM CDT, pts posted, and at 6:30sh CDT the second and third '2 qualifying nights/5K spent' credits posted. But, as of this morning still, I don't have the free cat1-4 certificate for the 15K in spending.

I applied on 8/1 and still have not received the bonus points. I sent a secure message through Chase a couple of weeks ago and was told that I had met the spending requirement, but it may take 4-6 weeks for the bonus points to post. It would not hurt to send them a secure message and ask-- they tend to be very responsive.

As a side note, I was a little concerned as well. My situation is a bit different. I applied for the old card on 05/02/16. I know I received the bonus prior to 06/05/16 (that's when I booked the two free nights). I intentionally waited until 08/01/18 to apply figuring that it had been at least 25 months since receiving the sign-up bonus.
