World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes

Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
  • Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
Additional Free Night Award (Category 1-4) with $15k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
  • The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
  • Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
Two Additional Night Credits with every $5k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
  • This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
  • For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
  • World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
Other Benefits
  • 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
  • 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Discoverist status every year
  • 5 qualifying night credits every year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel & purchase coverage

Other notes and tips

Chase spending tracker
  • The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
  • Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
  • Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
  • Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
  • Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

I had the old Hyatt credit card for 3 years. I canceled the card 5 days ago. When I applied for the new card I got the message that I would receive a response in the mail within 30 days. Has anyone else received this response? I have 5 days of Hyatt stays within the next 2 weeks that I really wanted to be able to use the new card.

I was approved for the card 2.5 yrs ago. Cancelled last week and applied for new World of Hyatt card this am. Instantly approved, but I haven't opened a personal card with any bank in 6 months and was at 7/24. I've got a secured message in to chase confirming I'm eligible for bonus, which I expect to be. Will let everyone know once they respond.

Cancelled my old Hyatt Card on Saturday. Currently at 7/24 if you count a chase business card (with it becoming 6/24 come August - 2 years of CSR!). Applied today and got Instant Approval, plus my highest credit line with chase.

Got it. Thanks.

Issued June 30, 2016 so I should be good to go. After I cancel, how long should I wait to apply?
My last credit card applied was March 12, 2018 for the Marriot Biz card.
Also, I am over the 5/24. Is data still showing it doesn't count for the 5/24?

I attached my free anniversary CAT 1 to 4 certificate issued 4/11/18 for a free stay in October 2018. Do I lose this or will it be kept intact when I cancel my Hyatt card?

So I did a product change on 6/29. My AF for the old card was going to post July 1. They told me my old AF would not post July 1 if I product change and I would get the new $95 AF within 1-3 cycles. On July 1 my old $75 AF posted. Any chance Ill luck out with a $75 AF instead of the $95?

I doubt it. While Hyatt's IT is terrible, this part is definitely Chase, and Chase is pretty good.

Has anyone asked about expediting this card? Seriously considering getting this, but I leave on 7/9 for almost 3 weeks with 14 nights in Hyatts. Mixture of Points and P+C so I'd love to put all ancillary spend on the card at 4x plus counting towards min spend

I called today about expediting and the lady I spoke to tried several options, but said "it was not allowing her" to expedite the shipment. The approval from Chase said 7-10 days. She was able to get that to 3-5 days by using a different method, although its still USPS. With tomorrow being a US holiday, I guess we'll see how well that works.

I'm curious to know when my status will update, too.

I was 7/24 and instantly approved. I waited less than a week. Some bloggers say wait 30 days; but time was of the essence for me. Glad I went for it.

I was in the same situation with a Marriott card last year. I called Chase had them send it to General Delivery at the Post Office in the City where we were planning to be for the first few nights. It arrived with no problem.

Called Chase (without applying) about the possibility of expediting. According to them, they can't expedite partner cards which means 7-10 business days which won't work for me. Too bad as my expenditures would have mostly satisfied the min spend (P&C at HR Jeju, Flights+Food at PH Maldives). I guess it will all go on the CSR.

Any suggestions on how long to wait between canceling the old product and applying for the new one? The phone rep said 45 days but that seems excessive- I was hoping to get the product in the next week.

Have you applied for any credit card (specifically Chase) within the last 6 months? E
