World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes
Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
- Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
- The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
- This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
- For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
- World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
- 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
- 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
- 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
- Discoverist status every year
- 5 qualifying night credits every year
- No foreign transaction fees
- Travel & purchase coverage
Other notes and tips
Chase spending tracker
- The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
- Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
- Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
- Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
- Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

I'm glad I held out and never got a Hyatt card.
I was targeted, just applied, and was instantly approved.

Now, Ill plan to put around 15-20k annually on the card. I can charge my rent to a credit card and this is a perfect card to do that with

This card is the first one in a long while that's appealing to me, not just the 60K bonus but the night credits toward status, who never churns cc. I just paid AF on my Hyatt Visa in April, so I may just wait a few months before I cancel that card and thenapply for this card.

But, in your case, you have a long time to wait (for your certificate), and it sounds as if you have no plans of waiting until next March or April. So why not cancel and apply now? The utility of having Hyatt spend (hotels on card + non-hotels on Hyatt card) seems to me to dwarf the annoyance of potentially having paid $75 for only a few month's use.

Hey all,
Quick question here... My understanding is that the credit card "qualifying nights" are going to be treated just like hotel qualifying nights. Does this mean that nights earned from the credit card will count toward the extra "Free night award in a Category 1-4 Hyatt hotel or resort (subject to expiration; see Program Terms)" that is given after 30 nights? Or the 1-7 cert that is earned after 60? Thanks!

And for that matter, they should count towards the extra TSU/10K points every 10 nights after 60.

Cancelled my (old) Hyatt Visa last Tuesday and just applied this AM for WoH card and was given 30 day message. 9/24, no new cards with Chase (other than AU on wife's Chase accounts) in the last year. 2 personal Chase cards (CSR, Freedom) and 2 biz cards (Ink Cash/Unlimited) Never been denied by Chase but wonder if the jig is up, I hope not...
Edit: Do have 30k of available credit across those 2 personal cards so hopefully I'll just need to shift some credit around. We'll see.

i suspect you'll be approved, but check back in please....... many folks likely in a similar situation, curious about 5/24, 60K bonus for current/past hyatt card holders who do otherwise qualify (no bonus in 24 mo), etc.

Well, I just got quite a run-around with trying to switch my card.
Chase agent #1
I called last Friday, told her I wanted to switch products. She said great, I can't get the bonus (which I know) but the best way to do it would be to cancel my card and file the application online. I obliged, got the 30 day notice.
Tuesday, got a letter saying I was rejected because I already had a Hyatt card.
Chase agent #2
Called and explained that I was wanting to switch products and how I was told that I would need to close it and re-apply. I inquired why my account needed to close first anyways and how for a product change, this doesn't seem correct. He puts me on hold for 5 minutes, comes back and tells me to just resubmit my application, and if it doesn't work, then I would need to wait 60 days until the 'credit bureaus' had on record my closed account.
I submitted my application online again, got another 30 days notice
Chase agent #3
I explained to this agent again how agent 1 closed my account and told me to apply online, and how agent 2 just told me to reapply again or wait, which didn't make sense,, and how I again got a 30 day notice when I went ahead and reapplied. I again stated that I simply wanted to change products, and that it made no sense that my first card needed closed in the first place. She transferred me to their finance department to see what is the status of the second application was. This guy (Chase agent #4 ) said it was rejected because I was ineligible for the bonus and that I would have to wait 15 months before I could apply for the card. What?? I told him to switch me back to the customer service agent so that I could re-open my card. He tried to transfer me to agent #3 but the call dropped (likely, that was on my end).
Chase agent #5 .
I explained how agent 1 closed the account and told me to reapply and since then, I've been given a runaround about how to switch products. I said, I am quite certain the only way to do this is to reopen my card and process a product change. She apologized, said she would re-open my old account, but then I should wait a day to 'make sure my card is reopened', and then call again to switch products.
Chase agent #6
I asked to switch products. He confirmed 2,000 bonus points, the anniversary date starts fresh, and I would get my new card (same number, but different exp date and three back digits) in 3-5 business days.
Well, I don't know what to make of all of this, but if you aren't eligible for the bonus, I recommend making sure you get a straight product change by calling Chase and if the agent is telling you to do otherwise (like close the account), you hang up and try again. Your agent may vary, but wow, I am not impressed with Chase customer service right now.

Hi all, just thought I would add a data point.
Had the old card for almost 4 years, so I decided to cancel and apply for the new WoH card. Canceled on Mon, tried applying on Tues, but got the 30 day message. Called them and was told the application automatically declined (without even doing a credit check), because they still showed my old card as being active. Was told to wait until my billing cycle completed (on the 17th). I've had $0 balance on this card for over a month, so it wasn't an issue of outstanding balance.
On a whim, I tried the application again today (Thurs), and was automatically approved. So it seems you do not quite need to wait for a full billing cycle to close, just need to wait at least a few days.
Has anybody had luck getting the card expedited?

This is the number I see on the Chase Credit Journey, so I assume no biz is counted and AU from Player 2's personal cards ARE included in that.
Will be sure to report back for the DP. I held the Hyatt Visa for just under 3 years so it has definitely been more than 24 months since I received a sign-up bonus for a Hyatt card issued by Chase.
