World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes

Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
  • Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
Additional Free Night Award (Category 1-4) with $15k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
  • The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
  • Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
Two Additional Night Credits with every $5k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
  • This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
  • For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
  • World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
Other Benefits
  • 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
  • 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Discoverist status every year
  • 5 qualifying night credits every year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel & purchase coverage

Other notes and tips

Chase spending tracker
  • The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
  • Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
  • Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
  • Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
  • Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

Reapply card and bonus?

I closed my first Hyatt CC in Dec 2017 after getting the bonus. I just applied and got a new Hyatt CC with the 50k bonus points. I haven’t activated the card yet

Am I still eligible for the 50k bonus with my new second Hyatt card? Or Do I need to wait until Dec 2019 to meet the 2 years gap to be eligible for the bonus? Please help. Thanks!

Well I’m guessing since you were approved for the card you’d be good to go right now IMO.

AFAIK if you are ineligible for the sign up bonus you’d get denied for the card.

If you already have the card you can login to the Chase mobile app and it should have like a progress tracker towards the sign up bonus. That’s a pretty definitive answer in my opinion. If there’s no tracker showing up in your mobile app I would secure message Chase and ask casually how long you have to meet the spending for the sign up bonus not mentioning you previously had the Hyatt card.

Question -

Opened WOH CC on 10/19/18 I have 15k in expenses that need to be paid by 11/3. My last statement was on 10/7 so my next one will be on 11/7.

Will that 15k count towards the 15k spend for Cat 1-4 Certificate or would I need to spend another 15k after the 11/7 statement date? I really don’t have any large bills I plan on paying for awhile, but this one can’t wait until 11/7 it has to be paid by the 3rd. Considering that the card was opened on 10/19 I’d think a November purchase would count, but who knows.

I believe it goes by card opening date, not statement date.

Do you remember how long it took to get your card? I’m anxiously waiting for mail each day. I opened it on 10/23.

Thanks!

The WOH card is actually the long wait card it took honestly 10 Full Business day’s comparing it to other Chase credit cards.

So checking the calendar i’d expect it on 11/4 for you.

I can confirm with Matt4200, it takes 10 business days to get the card. I think all Chase co-branded cards are like this.

Hi guys, quick question:
Is there any difference between those elite night awarded by the chase hyatt card (2 nights every 5k spend) and the real stay night by check-in/check out?
I am asking because, recently i registered the fast track to elite tier promotion by Hyatt with my company, which required 20 nights in 90 days,
I am thinking about mattress run plus some spending on the chase hyatt card, anyone has experience, whether the night from chase hyatt credit card will count into those 20nights requirement?

Many thanks!!!

This is outlined in the fast track thread and the terms of the fast track, but you've hit on the primary difference between regular qualifying nights and credit card nights. Card nights (and other promotional bonus nights) do not count toward a fast track or other promotions based on nights.

Upgrading from Hyatt CC to WoH CC

I have the old Hyatt CC, and got the offer to upgrade to WoH card. For anyone that has already done this:
  • Did you get an additional "Free Night Award" when you converted?
  • How long did it take to receive the "5 WoH Tier-Qualifying Night Credits"? (T&C mentions "within 8 weeks of your World of Hyatt Credit Card account open date")
My anniversary date is early Dec, so am wondering if I need to pull the trigger now, or if there's any advantage to waiting until my anniversary date.

(I thought there was already a thread on this, but after looking through 10+ pages on WoH, I can't seem to find it...)

Thanks it ended up arriving on 11/1 so a bit faster. Glad it did cause I wanted to have it for the business trip that started today!
