World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes

Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
  • Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
Additional Free Night Award (Category 1-4) with $15k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
  • The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
  • Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
Two Additional Night Credits with every $5k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
  • This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
  • For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
  • World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
Other Benefits
  • 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
  • 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Discoverist status every year
  • 5 qualifying night credits every year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel & purchase coverage

Other notes and tips

Chase spending tracker
  • The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
  • Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
  • Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
  • Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
  • Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

Included in my March statement were 40K bonus points - I don't need them right now but didn't want them to get lost in the ethernet.

The Hyatt rep told me that Chase has been experiencing issues since late Feb so if anyone else is wondering where their statement points are, it's due to problems at Chase. I don't know if it is effecting anniversary nights or 2 night credit/$5K spend, as I didn't qualify for either on my March statement.

I didn't get a date/time to expect this to be resolved; just posting this as information for anyone else wondering why they haven't seen Chase credit card points posted to their WoH account.
Thanks for posting. I find myself now the proverbial "just a few days late," too.

In my case, this should involve two nights credit for an additional $5,000 spend, and the free night certificate for $15,000 spend. Trying not to be too fussy about all of this, but since there is no spend tracker, it is the kind of thing that could be a PITA to reconstitute and/or deal with later....

I've been going back and forth with both Chase and Hyatt on this since my statement closed in early March. The statement itself does reflect the spending and the points (including the bonus).
However, those points have not posted. First, Hyatt said it was a Chase issue. Chase kept putting me off to investigate. Finally they said they had transmitted everything timely to Hyatt.
This is the most recent response from Hyatt:

"I still do not show the points reflected in your account. I understand that you were told that the points were transferred to your World of Hyatt profile, however whatever has been happening to prevent point reflection still has not been resolved. Please rest assured that World of Hyatt is working with Chase on this matter and that you are not the only member affected. At this time we have been given no updates beyond this."

Frustrating because I've been waiting for those points to book an award stay

I'm sorry to hear that you also did not receive your points and stay credits.

Like OskiBear, I called Chase again yesterday about this. I was given some song and dance about the points taking 'up to' 6 weeks to post. I immediately stated that's not been the way Chase has worked in the past; points post immediately. After a long (time suck) phone call, the Chase agent forwarded the case.

If you've got some time to kill, you should call Chase so this can get more visibility.

I don't know if the issue is from Chase or Hyatt, but something's broken. At least for some of us.

There's a spend tracker. Read a few posts up... (or just click here https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/show...postcount=1043)

Edit: Added this information to the wiki, since I think it's very useful (especially for the FT audience who tends to want to track and optimize this sort of thing)

I got home today and found a letter from Chase. They state that they sent the 44,xxx points to my Hyatt account. So I immediately called Hyatt and was told that they're well aware of the problem and that it's a problem on Chase's end where the points aren't transferring over to Hyatt. She also stated that no one has gotten points transferred over to Hyatt in March.

The good thing is that they're well aware of the problem.

Definitely not true... The points from my March statement posted on the next day as normal.

Yeah, I had my doubts when she made that statement.

As for my points, it looks like they just showed up in my account, back dated to my statement closing date.

Same here. Good on us!

Other stuff I mentioned above -- 2 nights credit on $5K spend, free night on $15K spend -- not yet posted, nor, for that matter, some points that should have been rebated for a stay at an HR that actually went down a category on 18 March; but I think I'll give them a few days to iron out whatever is wrinkled in the system. Edit: Hmmm ... You don't suppose they haven't credited me with the 2 nights credit and the free night because I didn't hit $15,000, do you? Sheesh, that's what I get for not having discovered the spending tracker before now!

I like the new tracker. I think I'm really missing some nights based on my extra spend in 2018, but I think I have to dig a bit more deeply before I contact Chase.

Are we all agreed that this is how each block of two nights looks when posted to Hyatt? This is two blocks of two nights credit, one open and one closed:

Unfortunately, the "Details" link isn't really a link.

Update: My points posted overnight, so persistence pays off. I hope we don't go through this ordeal each month!

The fact that all three of our accounts were fixed overnight makes me suspect a possible software coding error that they resolved. I wouldn't expect it to happen again but I will certainly check every month. I have a ton of points and nights (along with free night cert) posting early April so I will be watching closely.

My free night 1-4 posted. And now my AF posted. Can I cancel the card and keep the night which is already inside of my Hyatt account?

You can, but why would you want to? Are you under 5/24?

Card is just not something I've used in the last two years. Thanks for the info.
