World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes

Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
  • Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
Additional Free Night Award (Category 1-4) with $15k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
  • The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
  • Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
Two Additional Night Credits with every $5k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
  • This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
  • For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
  • World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
Other Benefits
  • 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
  • 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Discoverist status every year
  • 5 qualifying night credits every year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel & purchase coverage

Other notes and tips

Chase spending tracker
  • The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
  • Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
  • Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
  • Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
  • Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

wanted to give an update. Called today to see the status of the card and they said that verification was schedule for today by Hyatt. I didnt believe that chase had access to that info so I took it like a grain of salt. The rep also told me that she could not expedite the card.

I just got a notification that my card is coming tomorrow via next day air and just got the 5 night credits also.

I am so happy. This year I was definately not on the road to renew globalist 40/55 but with this it should be attainable.

Totally agree though - they've had lots of issues over the years with not accurately describing something in account history and/or not clearly marking when points get deposited or debited or why. Really, it's just a given at this point.

Chase can't be cool with this, right?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Chase-Hyatt...sid=m570.l1313

I'd assume eBay isn't either, as the "seller" is paying the buyer here.

Some data points:
Reduced credit line on my Hyatt card.
Three days later canceled existing Hyatt card, about 3 weeks ago, 0 balance.
One week later applied for new card, got the 30 day notice.
Checked a few times via automated line, all they had was the 30 day notice.
I did not call the reconsideration line.
Today received a letter - roughly two weeks after applying - that my application had been approved, with a relatively paltry credit line. The credit had been reallocated from one of my other cards. Received an e-mail as well that my card has been mailed. The bonus nights are in my Hyatt account.

How many cards had you applied for in the past 12 or 24 months?

My new WoH card was approved at more than double the $12,000 limit of the one I had closed five days earlier, but I've been taking it easy with CC apps for the past year.

I was at 8/24 and already have 4 personal and 3 business cards from Chase with a ridiculous amount of credit. It seems like they are being more careful about people's total amount of credit with them.

If you applied in January 2019 and spent enough to earn globalist, will your status expire feb 2020, or feb 2021?

thanks

Feb 2021.

You are earning it for 2020, but you get it for any portion of 2019 after you've earned it.

My statement closed yesterday.

I'm just looking online and I see:

-I got my Hyatt points
-I got my free night for hitting $15K (AwardsDetail.code.CHRM2) (expires in a year)
-I got my elite qualifying nights. Each group of two posted like this:

You can't click on "Details" to get any more info.

(Note: I'm posting from the West Coast after 9 PM, so it could be two calendar days from the Chase statement close to see this.)

Interestingly, the points posted one day before, broken into four separate amounts which correspond to these categories in which I had activity this month:

+ 4X Bonus Points earned on Hyatt purchases
+ 2X Bonus Points at restaurants
+ 2X Bonus Points on airline purchases
+ 2X Bonus Points on Local Transit
+ 2X Bonus Points on Fitness Centers & Gyms
+ Bonus Points earned on everyday spend

Anyway, looks pretty seamless to me.

And I see no harm done to other elites and a good new client for hyatt. OR he might be an executive travelling for work and hotels are always very expensive last minute or on conventions, so he chooses hyatt and gives them more revenue.

OR a kid who is a churner goes to walmart and buys gift cards and then Money orders in the post office and gets top tier on Hyatt LOL.
I'm probably going to be moving most of my hotel business to Hyatt. I've got Platinum on Marriott, about half of which comes from credit card spend (3K=1 night), and will have lifetime Platinum once they merge the programs. That's good enough for me, since it gets me into the lounges when I travel with my family.

Globalist, though, is significantly better than top tier at Marriott, so when I travel alone, I'll probably start staying there. I'd bring the whole family over, but they don't have enough mid-tier brands (Residence Inn, CY, etc.) in places we like to go. Once Hyatt Place rolls out to more locations, we can start moving over.

I'll probably end up getting about 1/3 of my Globalist requirement from hotel stays and the other 2/3 from credit card spend. On the one hand, I'm probably not as profitable a client as Hyatt is hoping for, but they're still going to get 15-20 nights that they wouldn't have gotten otherwise, and I'll get better elite benefits. It seems to me that the people who are most hurt by the elite nights from credit card spend are the other Globalists. It's going to take me a while to get used to the Hyatt website, as well as the silly names for elite levels.

The credit card is simply too good a deal at this point to pass up. I'm lovin' all the free nights.

I have a very similar thing on my account, although my spending was on 8/1 and my statement closed at the end of July.

I just got approved for this card the other day and I tried registering for this offer but it wouldn't let me. I have some stays coming up in September. Should I be able to register for this offer if I didn't have the card open before the promotion started?

I'd guess that your new card membership hasn't hit Hyatt's system yet. My guess is that in a few days or a week, you'll be able to register.

It's now 8/6 (10+ days) and the elite nights from spend have not yet posted, whereas the points posted almost immediately (as always). If it truly is 8 weeks before they show up, that would be ridiculous.
Following up on my earlier post, my elite nights from spend have now posted, retroactively to the date of statement close. That makes it about 12-13 days after statement closing that they appeared in my account.

I was just going to post the same... my nights from spending posted today. My points from the same statement posted about a week ago, so the connection seems to be working now.
