World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes

Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
  • Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
Additional Free Night Award (Category 1-4) with $15k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
  • The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
  • Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
Two Additional Night Credits with every $5k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
  • This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
  • For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
  • World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
Other Benefits
  • 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
  • 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Discoverist status every year
  • 5 qualifying night credits every year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel & purchase coverage

Other notes and tips

Chase spending tracker
  • The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
  • Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
  • Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
  • Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
  • Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

10% off offer is bank on my Hyatt Chase card. I used it back in September and was hoping it would return for my upcoming stays and it did! Up to $25 off

It's back on mine, too, but the more recent ones have been limited to domestic Hyatt properties, which rules me out. Previous offers didn't have this restriction so I'm none too pleased about it.

New deal...

10 bonus nights for 2020 and 10 bonus nights for 2021 and a choice of the normal 50k bonus or $200 statement credit with cat 7 certificate...

wonder if its retroactive for those that applied in the past 30 days or so by secure messaging chase.

Cancelling Hyatt Visa and immediately applying for WOH Visa

Ive had the (legacy) Hyatt visa for a few years now. I have a few pretty lengthy upcoming Hyatt stays and Im thinking of cancelling the card and immediately applying for the WOH visa to get the 4x bonus for resort stays (Im anticipating spending ~$8k before the end of the year) and the current 10 elite night + 50k bonus offer.

does anyone have experience of doing this? Im under 5/24 so I dont expect issues on that front, but Im a little worried about cancelling the card and then not getting approved for the WOH card.

Its not the end of the world since I could use my CSR to pay and still get 3x, but it would be a shame to lose the free night cents for the relatively low AF as well as the discounted redemption promos that have been running recently.

I recently had a bad experience with Chase.... I really wish Hyatt had tied in with Amex.... Much better company, even Citi would have been better!

I was denied because I have too much available credit... I’ve never heard of such a thing! I thought having available credit was perceived as a positive!

Makes sense since most card holders are in the US and US residents are limited in where they can travel right now.

chase has always been able to move credit around unless you dont have enough credit to meet the minimum credit line for that product.

I warned about this in the other thread. Should Chase decide for whatever reason to not approve your new card then you're SOL and IMHO it isn't worth the hassle. Up to you of course, I agree the offers for the new card are attractive enough to consider it.

I will make a property tax payment on 12/10 and would like to use this card. I would like the 2 EQNs for $5k to post in January.

When should I apply for the card so that the first statement (with this payment) posts in January? Is it possible to apply 12/1 and have to the card by 12/10 to make the payment?

You can change the statement date online - usually you can push it out by more than 1 month when you select a statement date that's prior to current date (e.g. if your statement date is 12/29, then on 12/5 you can change select the statement date to be 1st of the month and then your next statement will go to 1/1 instead of 12/29).

The 2 EQNs would count toward the 2020 Hyatt status year because the triggering transaction would take place in 2020. The statement closing date being in January 2021 would not change that (though you would not see the EQNs show up in your Hyatt account until the statement closing date). See the wiki above for more details.

Ok, I think I got that part of the wiki mixed up.

the night credits are associated with the posting date
When I read posting date, I thought that meant when the EQNs post to your account.

and therefore status year of the triggering transaction
It really means transaction posting date. I guess there isn't a way to have a 12/10 payment trigger 2021 EQNs

I've now edited the wiki to clarify this point.
