World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes

Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
  • Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
Additional Free Night Award (Category 1-4) with $15k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
  • The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
  • Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
Two Additional Night Credits with every $5k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
  • This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
  • For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
  • World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
Other Benefits
  • 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
  • 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Discoverist status every year
  • 5 qualifying night credits every year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel & purchase coverage

Other notes and tips

Chase spending tracker
  • The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
  • Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
  • Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
  • Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
  • Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

So, I've been trying for 5 days to get my card expedited. It is seemingly impossible. Before the card is issued, there is an information comparison that occurs with Hyatt (and this is evidently not instantaneous). So, I know the account number exists, but the card has not even been produced yet. Apparently, once a card is generated, then another can be made immediately and mailed USPS, arriving in 3-5 days. But overnight delivery is not possible.

I haven't seen a single report of someone succeeding in having the new Hyatt card expedited.

I used the secure message function in Chases website to ask for expedited processing and was told it wasnt available. Based on the email I received last week from Chase, Im expecting my card sometime between tomorrow and Thursday (I applied on the first day).

That's not the sound I'm hearing. But good luck. Do let us know.

I had the old Hyatt card and cancelled on July 2nd. No balance. I then applied on July 3rd and got the decision pending message. After several days I checked with the reconsideration line folks and was told they had declined my application since it showed i still had the old credit card. I hadn't yet received a letter.

The agent when asked said yes I should be able to reapply now and that I don't need to wait until the statement closes on the 17th (which it normally would). So I reapplied on July 6th in the evening and once again immediately received the decision pending notification. I checked this morning on my Chase online portal and saw the new WOH credit card had been added to my list of open credit card accounts. On the status line there was a message that I had been approved.

I don't see the 5 qualifying nights in my WOH account yet.

Based on this data point it suggests one should allow several days after closing an old Hyatt credit card before applying for the new one.

I have not applied for the WoH CC, but Chase has always told me that co-branded cards cannot be expedited. This is in contrast to my experience with the CSR, which they voluntarily overnighted.

I am facing a similar experience. This is my first time applying for the Hyatt card, so no prior cards were cancelled beforehand. Was approved on 7/3 and have an upcoming stay this Sunday. Called Chase today asking for an update. They indicated it is still in the "partner verification stage" which can take 7-10 days. In addition, the 5 qualifying nights have not posted either. Advised me to call back on Wednesday to see if the card is issued by then. If so, they may have the ability to expedite the card. Obviously this contradicts what most people are mentioning in this thread, but I will report back if there is any success.

I am a user of the old Hyatt Credit Card. When I upgrade to the new Hyatt Credit Card in August, does my spend up to August get retroactively the 2 qualifying nights credit x 5,000 (e.g., if I spent $50,000 from 1/1/18 (my Anniversary Date) to 7/31/18, do I get 20 qualifying nights?).

I think that makes the decision to upgrade the card irrelevant in many cases (with respect to accumulating eligible nights), since the anniversary date remains the same.

For people who actually stay at Hyatt, the new card blows the old card out of the water.

I've heard this line from them previously but Chase has no problem expediting Marriott cards so it appears to be something in the contract between them and Hyatt.

It worked out fine- the new account showed up on chase.com a few hours later with the credit line the phone agent described. I was able to get my account number using the secure message trick. Just no CVV until the physical card arrives.

Odd, as the last time I heard this from Chase, it was for the Marriott card.
