World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes

Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
  • Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
Additional Free Night Award (Category 1-4) with $15k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
  • The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
  • Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
Two Additional Night Credits with every $5k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
  • This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
  • For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
  • World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
Other Benefits
  • 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
  • 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Discoverist status every year
  • 5 qualifying night credits every year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel & purchase coverage

Other notes and tips

Chase spending tracker
  • The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
  • Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
  • Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
  • Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
  • Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

Can't believe they would be adding more benefits to an already good card.
I have a feeling this will give them an excuse to raise the AF on the card.

But for me and a lot of people that’s not good.

I agree more benefits should lead to an increase in the annual fee. At the same time I feel like Chase/Hyatt may make lessen current benefits. For example they may change it to 7.5k for 2 EQN which would be horrible. Which is why I prefer things as is.

Not to mention a lot of people I’ve spoken to really enjoy that they are guaranteed a free night for under $100 with the Anniversary Free Night. While $125 isn’t a huge leap, I can see a considerable number of people dropping this card due to that.

If I had one choice of a benefit to add for an increased annual fee it would be free parking for cardholders an all Stay types. For that I’d pay a $149 Annual Fee. I realize that Globs already get free parking on Award stays, but what about non-Award stays? Just an idea.

Not really into Spa/Dining Credit I have enough TSU’s, Airline Lounge is meh since Priority Pass.

Probably very unlikely which is why I’d rather keep the card as is in its current form.

The "benefits" added once already launched are often quite soft (like Doordash w/the CSR) and not a true hard benefit (like an added points multiplier or airline credit)

One thing to note in that survey list is the lack of mention on any kind of points rebate (i.e. 10% Back or 4th Night Free on the IHG Card).

I wouldn't be surprised if they added more "milestone" benefits based on how much you spent on the card. (i.e. $7,500 for a Club Cert or $25,000 for a TSU or even additional free nights.)

I agree. I would love to have the ability to have parking waived for paid rates. Doesn't Hyatt make a lot of money from parking? It's probably going to cost more than $150/year just to get that.

Airline lounge and GE ain't worth it since practically every card have it.

I wouldn't mind if Chase release a Hyatt Visa Infinite. Maybe something similar to a Ritz-Carlton Visa Infinite, but with a travel credit that's easy to use.

Via spending alone, it takes $125,000 in spending before one gets their first TSUs. Hard to imagine Hyatt will start issuing TSUs after only $25,000, especially since the first $15,000 already yields a free Cat 1-4.

There’s also no way we’re getting free parking for an extra $30 to $75 per year. Parking is $75/night at PHNY.

I wasn't giving out realistic numbers for the spending milestones, just said them as examples. Like you said, they wouldn't be giving out the TSU for that low of a spending requirement, and it would be a lot higher.

This would be an awesome benefit, but I think we can all agree that the WOH point redemption values are fare better than IHG, Bonvoy, or HH, so that is probably why WOH can't afford to do any of those types of benefits, as much as I would love it.

Would you guys be willing to pay $450 for a Hyatt card that is similar to the Bonvoy Brilliant?

How about this for benefits:
10 elite nights (instead of 5 and also similar to how Brilliant gives Marriott Gold status)
$15K spend for Category 4 night. Cap at 3 nights earned per card year.
2 elite nights for every $5K spend
Free annual Category 7 night.
$300 Hyatt Credit
Global Entry Credit.

I think I would be willing to pay $450 for that, and I would be moving all my unbonused spend over to WOH to try to get $30K in spend.

If the free Cat 7 night could be upgraded to a premium suite for the usual 9,000 points, I'd be willing to pay at least $450/year.
