Vegas points availability at MGM properties
 
I've searched for points availability at the Vegas MGM properties for a smattering of one-night stays in January 2019 and have not found any availability. Do these properties release award nights closer to the date of the stay or something?

January is big convention time in Vegas. Good luck finding award availability when hotels are charging 2x,3x,4x normal rates.

There are three category four hotels in Las Vegas – MGM, New York New York, and MGM park. While I normally would stay yet ha ha you’re Reading place like the Delano, I have a cat 1 to 4 free night that I want to use. Any recommendations between the three?

Was Monte Carlo bumped up to a cat 5? Edit: Nevermind.

Do yourself a favor sign up for a M Life players card if you have not done so yet. Do the WOH tier match it will bump you Discoverist to Pearl or Explorist to Gold. Pearl a lone usually unlocks comp rooms in Vegas. Gold even better.

You get comped rooms when you lose money at the casino, not because you have a card that is a certain colour due to a tier match...

I’m not sure about Vegas but Mlife Gold got us multiple free night offers at the borgata in Atlantic City - several even on Saturday night. During the week we could literally stay whenever we want for 3-4 nights at a time if we wanted including the summer. And AC rooms aren’t cheap in the summer either. We also get other comp stuff offered periodically. The first free night was offered right when we status matched online so we hadn’t payed even a penny at the borgata. We don’t play much anyway so I’m sure the offers we get have nothing to do with our spending habits in the casino.
