Ocean Resort (Hyatt Unbound) Atlantic City, NJ REVIEW -MASTER THREAD

Wow, looks like Hyatt is finally coming to AC!!! It's going to be in the Revel Casino location. Should be interesting. Wonder what the benefits will be like and what category. Supposed to open Summer 2018.

Saw this as well. Could be interesting. I think from a benefit side, most of the status benefits are honored and unbound hotels so I would expect this to be the same.

Based on this article - 1,399-room Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City Joins The Unbound Collection by Hyatt Brand | Hotel News Resource Mobile Edition - there looks to be a lot of future interesting Unbound properties to try.

Petty excited to read this since there are really not a lot of chain hotels on the Jersey shore.

I am surprised that it's going to be an Unbound Collection though. I thought those tend to be boutique or historical hotels. With 1399 rooms and a large spa, plus I assume a club/executive lounge for top tier gamers, this could be a Grand or Regency.

I think this is good. I mean Atlantic City isn't all that great, but I can see maybe spending a few days on the shore in high-floor ocean view room and chilling.

Unbound Collection is all about being its own hotel, independent of any Hyatt-styling and Hyatt naming. Usually, that fits smaller boutique or historical hotels, but it can apply to flashy new mega-hotels like this too.

I would agree! Putting it in the Unbound collection also allows the new owners to likely not have to make many changes to the facility and rooms as the standards are different than your typical Hyatt. I would think they want to put as little money into this place and just get it open and start selling rooms ASAP to hit the summer season.

Also another way to not offer any meaningful benefits for Exp, like club access.

There are plenty of full service Hyatts that don't offer club access though. Explorists should still be eligible for as available room upgrades, waived resort fees on pt nights, etc. right?

Complimentary breakfast and upgrades for most elite guests seem to work quite well
Having unique non cookie cutter properties can be a real plus in overall experiences
Atlantic City struggles to attract high spending guests
Its a real risk to invest in AC unless they have a really strong destination property offering
Build it and they will come is over.Be interesting to see how this all plays out

Hyatt only offers free breakfast to Globalists. Exp only gets breakfast using club access upgrade at Regency or Grand. So no breakfast for Exp at Unbound Collection.

That said, there are really no chain options at the Jersey Shore, so I will prob still visit regardless of the breakfast

Not exactly on the beach, but there's the Sheraton by the outlet and a Courtyard Marriott nearby. Think there's a Radisson and Best Western walking.

I'm looking forward to visiting! I liked the Revel and liked it was nonsmoking. Anyone want to guess what category it'll be? Maybe a 4 at the highest? Wonder what category the Sheraton is.

Excited to give this a try, usually go to Atlantic City a few times a year and my current go to hotel (Harrah's) has been on a downward slide for over a year now. Will be interesting to see how they cross honor status and perks from elite status through Hyatt.

Looks like they're aiming to open the same day as the hard rock. Workers are told to report to work June 11.

Still not showing on Hyatt's website.

Anyone know now if they have an outdoor pool?
