Grand Hyatt Jeju REVIEW MASTER THREAD
Opening fully in 2019 meanwhile, will be the Jeju Dream Tower urban integrated resort in downtown Jeju City. Located only 3km from Jeju International Airport, the two-tower facility will be similar to the recently-opened Lotte World Tower in Seoul, comprised of shopping, entertainment, and leisure facilities, accommodation, serviced residences, and an observation deck. There will also be a foreigners-only casino. Hotel facilities will be provided by Korea’s third Grand Hyatt property, set to provide 1,600 rooms and approximately 1,200m˛ of meeting space.
Grand Hyatt Jeju will have 1,600 rooms, 11 food and beverage outlets, approximately 1,200 square meters of meeting space, indoor and outdoor pools, fitness center, two spas (Western and Korean) with a total of eight treatment rooms and two kids clubs.
What a beast at 1600 rooms! I don't know if incoming tourism can even fill half of this hotel with the Chinese economic retaliation and group tours banned from THAAD. It sounds like it'll be just another GH Incheon with tons of staycationers from the mainland.

Yikes. Good analogy. Hope they are planning on a separate adults-only lounge.

1600 rooms!!
There is a high possibility that they will try to attract many domestic/international conferences.
Graduate students tend to eagerly attend conferences when they are held in Jeju island, rather than in mainland.

I meant must have them around to indulge in the buffet spread and free food included with their Club Room Unless the kids club caters then they'll ditch them there.

Not taking reservations for April yet, and I'm not holding my breath. They could address the lounge issue with two lounges - 1 adults only, and the other mixed. I'm sure conference goers love screaming kids.

I don't think so. Usually the hiring phase begins around 8-10 months prior to the soft opening. You can think about an opening date maybe in August or September 2020. Best example is the ANDAZ in Munich, it got soft opened in February 2019 but the first people got hired in summer last year. It first needs some time to hire the people, get them together to build a team and prepare the soft opening of the hotel.

Since 2019 is almost over. We can safely assume GH Jeju will open in 2020. My guess is the hotel will open for Korean Lunar New Year since I bet the owners are eager to recoup their investment.

Interesting. I'm definitely going to bookmark this thread for future reference. I was in Jeju Island 11 years ago. Beautiful place, but the lack of English made it a bit difficult to navigate around.

It's still more geared to domestic Korean tourists or even Chinese. This GH is a casino hotel resort.
