I assume there is no way to use Hyatt Points to reserve via a Prive agent and that it has to be cash/cc? Anyway, FT has been very helpful so far and thankful to all the avid travelers and information share-ers (who are much more knowledgeable than I) who contribute to all kinds of threads. Looking for about a 4 night stay at Park Hyatt Saigon in april. Already PM'ed another FTer who may have a connection to a Prive agent so hopefully that goes through.
You have to pay the Prive Rate only and nothing else will suffice for the booking.

Indeed sounds good.

No word from my other contact. I'm not sure if this is appropriate but if any FTer is a Prive agent or knows someone whom they've worked with, I'd be happy to give them my business.

Bonus if they are located in Honolulu!

If you are trying to say I am some how insulting OsakaWino then I apologize if it feel this way. I find the tone of this thread to be really off, driven mainly by OsakaWino and yes a few TAs who are perhaps over eager (but I am sure they have the right tools to help anyone if given the chance). I'm really just trying to point out that if people chose not to reply to him/her then there probably is a reason. The passive aggressive nature of the previous posts in the thread are probably a good indicator & a red flag for me. Complaints that he/she "isn't getting answers" are off base. A little "please can someone guide me" might go along way. Also, I have no marketing strategy here.

You are welcome....Maholo ! This is the spirit of FT

To close it out, Hyatt is always listening to the general themes and comments here. Prive is still new, Hyatt is growing a lot now in the mid-luxury/Luxury Market. Things will keep improving.

I've been driving this thread? That's news to me. I think there are tools for counting it, but I have no idea what percentage of the 210+ posts that I have accounted for. And what in the world do you mean by some "passive aggressive nature" being a "red flag"?

And as for the Prive program, I have been an ardent supporter since it was first announced. And I have nothing against any Prive TA. I merely said that if a Prive TA was posting on the WoH forum looking for business, it would be wise for them to understand how Prive combines with WoH. It is not all that difficult.

Comments/observations are not "complaints". If there does not appear to be an answer to my questions, I try to find one, and then I share it.

In all your recent post you seem to use the word "people" to refer solely to TAs, and I find that quite arrogant. I only asked a question of the FT community who participate on this thread.

Well, I did get a bit of a laugh with "please can someone guide me"

I will send you a PM, i have a recommendation i can put you in contact with who helped me w PH Saigon and PH Siem Reap and is well connected w the properties. For PH Saigon, i found they have a few limits on room categories you can upgrade from/to, but the end rate is still good if you understand the varying levels of rooms at this property.

Unless you count Centrics in the mid-luxury/luxury market, I would disagree with this statement. By my count, more than 50% of the new properties that were announced in 2018 are Centrics, Places or houses. To me, Hyatt still has a long way to go in the luxury market.

is there a hyatt prive code that i can use to search rates online? usually it's the same as the standard rate, but i'd rather double check before wasting an agent's time if it's more

There's unfortunately not one rate code that you can search - as many properties use different rate codes for Prive depending on promotions, etc. But typically, yes, it is the same as the standard/best available rate (unless there is an exclusive Prive promotion).

You could also double-check the Virtuoso rate (which will be equal to the Hyatt Privé rate) on the Virtuoso online booking tool.

Then things have changed! For instance, check out this link... It will take you a booking search on Virtuoso.com for Virtuoso rates at the Park Hyatt Washington, DC. Just enter your check-in and check-out dates, and you'll be able to see and book Virtuoso rates.

Not all (but most) Virtuoso hotels offer the ability to use the booking engine. Also, it only books the Virtuoso rate, but a Virtuoso TA who is Hyatt Privé will be able to go into the Sabre record and change the rate code to Hyatt Privé. Same thing applies for FAN Club, Diamond Club, etc...

the two links provided, when using the mobile website like on an iPhone, say "For availability and pricing: Contact My Advisor".

checking on my PC this morning, the links do support online, self-service bookings.
and back to my iPhone, the links work after selecting Request Desktop Version.

more relevant to this thread, the Virtuoso options do not include the current excellent Prive deal at HR Lake Tahoe.
the deal is a 2nd Prive rate plan the includes a 4th night free.
the deal is available during early & mid May - a gorgeous & calm time to visit Lake Tahoe.
the best deal I see is $225/n average ($299, $299, $299, $0) gets a lakeside cottage suite - this is the room type you want to be in - available on at least 1 weekend date in May
rate is for the one bedroom suite, then one-category confirmed Prive upgrade to the lakeside cottage suite upper.
factoring in the resort fee savings as globalist and $100 credit, the net cost is $900 for 4 nights in a lakeside cottage suite.

PH New York seems to be another property refusing to confirm upgrades in 24 hours...one wonders if more and more properties will be playing this?

PS its a suite to suite upgrade in this instance

You are absolutely correct that this particular promotion is available through Hyatt Privé and not Virtuoso — which is why, ultimately, any of the TA's on this forum — with multiple consortial and preferred partner relationships — will always be a more valuable resource than a booking engine.
