I was thinking maybe doing one night at a marriott and one at the park hyatt with the $100 property credit (can the credit be used at a hotel restaurant?) and breakfast I would come out ahead in terms of value?
The one-night stay at PH Hangzhou would definitely be a great value with all the Privé benefits. Here is a complete list of the Privé benefits at this property (note that the $100 property credit is actually a Food and Beverage credit here):

HYATT PRIVÉ BENEFITS at Park Hyatt Hangzhou
*Benefits for this brand require no Minimum Length of Stay
$100 USD Food and Beverage credit
Room Upgrade, Response within 24 hours of request, Subject to availability
Daily Complimentary Full Breakfast for Two at Hotel Restaurant
Welcome Amenity
Guest Welcome Letter
Early Check-In/Late Check-Out, Response within 24 hours of request, Subject to availability
Connecting Rooms, Response within 24 hours of request
Free Wifi

Any Privé advisor can book this for you. Hope this helps!

Is the Prive F&B credit only usable in the restaurants, or can it also be used for room service? Or is does it vary by property?

In most cases Hyatt Privé credit is property wide, but at this specific property it is F&B only - however room service would count as F&B use. Any of the hotel bars, restaurants or room service would be applicable. Feel free to send me (or any other Hyatt Privé agent) a private message to get a quote or book this rate.

Aggressive thread....
I let my global Hyatt rep use my ski vacation home once. I guess that's how I got my "bribe in" to join Prive...!

There's been some discussion about the upgrade amenity associated with the Hyatt Privé preferred partner amenity program.

Here's some actual wording from the sales manager at Park Hyatt New York:
With the program, one of the perks is within 24 hours of booking, we look at availability to confirm if the upgrade can be confirmed right away. For this specific booking over the May 31-June 3rd dates, the upgrade from a One King Studio Suite to a One Bedroom Suite is available. Additional amenity enhancements as a preferred partner includes guarantee of early arrival or late departure based upon availability at time of request instead of day of arrival.
So it's not a guaranteed upgrade at time of booking as some have interpreted it ... but if they can upgrade (based on anticipated occupancy on the dates of stay?), they will extend the upgrade.

Also, guaranteed early arrival or late departure will be confirmed (based on anticipated occupancy?) at the time of the request.

Thanks for the clarification. It seems a bit opaque, but still a lot better than just "subject to availability at checkin".

So, Globalist gets an upgrade if available upon arrival, or use a TSU to confirm in advance. Privé gets an upgrade confirmed in advance.

In other words, Hyatt has a new level which is above Globalist. It's called Privé.

This sucks.

But I'm far too polite to say anything about it, nor even to notice the glaring obvious.

It’s a one category upgrade excluding suites for rooms booked at full price; a suite upgrade requires that a suite is booked at full price. A Globalist is eligible for an upgrade up to a standard suite from a base room booked at a discounted rate. Apples and oranges. Finally, as a Globalist you can book Privé rates and stack benefits.

I just made my first Privé booking and was able to confirm an upgrade to a premium suite. In this case paying full price on a short stay provides good value that nicely complements my top tier Courtesy Card benefits.

Privé is not a guest recognition program. It is a preferred partner program offered to Hyatt's best travel agent partners. If a Globalist books through a Privé agent, he/she gets the potential upgrade confirmed in advance.

So if you book this rate and apply a TSU, you get upgraded the suite one level above standard?

I agree. My experience so far has been that the majority of the Privé reservations that I have completed have received the confirmed upgrade within 24 hours of the request. The sales directors have also been very supportive of the program and a pleasure to work with.

If you book the Privé rate through a Privé TA, any upgrade at booking through the amenity program would be to the next room category. If you apply a TSU, the Privé program does not offer an upgrade to the second suite category. If your Privé TA works with the sales manager on your behalf (and has a good relationship with him/her), you might be surprised by a further suite upgrade, but that's not part of the program.
