Hyatt Q1.5 2018 promotion Morepoints

https://world.hyatt.com/content/gp/e...re-points.html

Run from today to 5/15. 1000 points per night except HP or HH(500 points) Max 25,000 points

antonius66 Feb 15, 2018 8:27 am

Better than nothing. Runs until 05/15 I believe, not 3/15.

shakim Feb 15, 2018 8:36 am

Counts on awards so each night costs 1,000 points less. Better than getting nothing back on award stays.

thanks for pointing that out. I just corrected the typo.

You need to register by 3/31, but stays through 5/15 count, as has been pointed out.

actually a pretty good promotion - will get me 12k points.

At least they're not doing the Marriott thing, and not awarding a bonus until your second stay.

Though it seems the days of truly appealing Hyatt promos are over.

Basically 20% off Cat 1 awards. The only thing I hate about promos like this are that to me they fail in their most basic purpose. To me, a promo should drive business. 1k points per night will not drive anyone to stay extra nights. We will just get a bonus on existing stays or stuff we were booking anyway. Give me a reason to stay more. When I was staying say 17 nights and 3 more would have net me 15k more, and 8 more was 30k more...I went out of my way to stay more. Hyatt must just feel that those promos are not worth the cost, but then my question is why bother with a promo at all? This is just giving away points for no real reason.

Do you have a concierge or Private Line Agent who enrolled you?

I disagree, this promo will definitely have me staying more this spring at Hyatt. I will book a couple of award nights that I was sitting on the fence on, and I will definitely book some more paid stays. Thanks Hyatt!!

I just had that thought. The concierge must have enrolled me.

Nothing for Cash+Points redemptions?

IggySD Feb 15, 2018 10:58 am

While this is better than a sharp stick in the eye it's still a pretty crap promotion. For folks who stay at different hotels frequently it's essentially the return of the Diamond amenity. But compared to previous promotions where 25 nights could earn upwards of 75k points (on top of the Diamond amenity) this is just sad. I get that the new program is just a sad, pathetic shadow of what it used to be but I still hold out hope they're going to surprise us and institute something that is actually better than HGP.
