55 night Globalist qualifying for 2018

I'll make this guestion simple :
Is 55 night 2018 qualification full on Globalist with Four Suite Upgrade Certs and Concierge , or Globalist Lite

I remember talking to a globalist line agent about this once. They indicated that it was “Globalist Lite” and I’d have to stay the full 60 next year for all the extra perks.

Hopefully they were misinformed, otherwise this 55 night requalifying perk seems a bit pointless. I can’t see anyone hitting 55 and then not trying to squeeze 5 more nights in for the suite upgrade certs, etc.

I'll make this point simpler.
I'll end this year with 52 Hyatt nights.
95% percent done before June. All Hong Kong, Tokyo.. high end Hyatts.

I have over a hundred nights at other properties.

Hyatt, you've made staying with you pointless.

There are better properties at similar cost.

I've abandoned loyalty due to WOH.. or as the saying goes Hyatt abandon me.. and I finally noticed.

You're a girlfriend whose lies i've worked out.. and I'm dating again.

I was told by a rep it is full globalist and you will get all benefits.

Do you mean "qualifying FOR 2018" based on (55) nights stayed in 2017? Or re-qualifying for the 2019 program year, based on nights stayed during 2018? I'm confused.

My understanding is that one must qualify with 60 nights in 2017 (for 2018) in order to be able to re-qualify with only 55 nights during 2018 for status during 2019.

I am Globalist Lite - qualify until 2/28/2019. For 2018, I guess I will need 60 nights to qualify - which is just impossible for me due to the fact that the locations I am traveling to have very limited hyatt options. Will just give up at this stage unless hyatt runs some sort of promotion, e.g. 60000 bonus points or 30 nights fast track to Globalist...

Thoughts?

Another difference is a "free" Cat 1-7 night after the extra five qualifiers.

I was told 60 to receive TSU.

If the question is whether 55 nights in 2017 will requalify you for 2018, the answer is no.

If the question is, assuming 60 nights in 2017, will 55 nights in 2018 get you TSUs or a free night cert, the answer is not clear. The T&Cs are completely ambiguous what it means to satisfy the "Tier Qualifying Night" requirement. Basically Hyatt can play this any way it chooses next year.

The benefits matrix, copied below, shows a free night at 60 qualifiers. If there were nights at both top-tier qualification AND at 60 nights, then folks this year would have gotten two nights at 60 rather than one night.

=========
Stay 60 qualifying nights or earn 100,000 Base Points in a calendar yearFree night award in a Category 1-7 Hyatt hotel or resort (valid for 120 days from issuance)1

4 suite upgrade awards to use at the time of reservation at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts (valid for one year from issuance when paying an eligible rate or when redeeming points for a free night award)2

Access to My Hyatt Concierge agent for reservations and personalized service3

Maintain Globalist status after 55 qualifying nights each subsequent year

Hyatt... the only loyalty program where people don’t understand what it takes to qualify. Awesome job, WoH team.

I read it as stay 60 nights to receive award night, 4 TSU and HC. Stay 55 nights to renew, not newly qualify, Globalist status. It is a 5 night requalification break for existing Globalists.

I have 59 nights and got the globalist requal letter and no TSUs.

thank goodness, I booked an award for one night when Cash was the better deal. I want my TSUs to be good into December next year.
