What's the largest metro area without a Hyatt of any kind?

In the US, I think it must be Fresno, no?

In Europe, Barcelona and Rome stand out to me.

One must also consider, if one is considering glaring omissions in Hyatt's worldwide reach, if a market has a substantial number of branded hotels. In a market without many of them, certainly Hyatt is not going to be among the first four or five companies thought of (well, except in many parts of the US).

If it is Fresno then that is only for a little longer. A Fresno Hyatt Place is under construction.

Hyatt has hotels in the Detroit metro area but nothing in the city itself or within a half hour. Suspect the winner here is Providence, where the closest hotel is 36 miles away in suburban Massachusetts (Braintree). There was a Hyatt Regency in Newport which closed last year, and there's currently a Hyatt Place being built which will be attached to PVD.

For the US, maybe, but Providence has a population of about 200k (source Wikipedia, but good enough for this).

I'm going for Lagos, with a population of somewhere over 20 million, and the nearest Hyatt being in Agadir, 1,800 miles away.

And there are an IC, Sheraton, 4 Points, Radisson Blu, Renaissance, several Proteas (now part of Marriott) - it's not like it's completely uncharted waters (like Kinshasa, my number 2 pick at around 12 million)

There is an HP in TJ. How about one in Mexicali? No Hyatt in El Centro/Calexico/Yuma.

Scandinavia gets my vote as the largest "international region" with no Hyatt presence.

I will point to Europe. None in Rome, Prague, Budapest, Venice, Brussels n just 1 PH in whole Swiss. Crazy if you think of it, such a major international chain with no hotels in the above cities.

Nothing in Rome is the one that really stands out for me.

Karachi and Dhaka are a couple of others. Dhaka does have lots of fine options; Karachi fewer.

None in Munich (not yet - Andaz coming eventually), Cologne, Frankfurt (Mainz isn't Frankfurt) either...

Hyatt's presence in Europe is just bad.

No Madrid, no Scandinavia at all, the one in Warsaw left, and so on and so on.

Madrid Centric coming in December 2017 I believe.
2 Hyatts in Zurich coming, both airport. But agree, Europe footprint is simply bad.

Some of the European locations I wish there were Hyatts would include:
Brussels, Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Madrid, Barcelona, Prague, Munich, Salzburg, Venice, Rome, Naples, Athens, Budapest, Lisbon to name a few.

In North America I would like to see them add a Hyatt in Victoria, Kelowna, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, London, Hamilton, Toronto, Quebec City, Saint John etc.
