Getting off topic a bit... thread is around "metro areas", not necessarily any city....

another thread on Hyatt wish list:

Dear Hyatt: Please build a new hotel in ____

If they get wind of this, they'll be raising the top-tier nights requirement.

Hyatt's presence in Europe is just bad.

No Madrid, no Scandinavia at all, the one in Warsaw left, and so on and so on.
Cologne has an HR

I just found out Spokane, WA doesn't have any Hyatts. Population of about 215k

Budapest also coming. I would also have to say Rome is probably one of the biggest metro areas with nothing. Athens also? Basically most large cities in Europe.

There are multiple Hyatts in Toronto. None of the others qualify as a "large metro area".

Yes, there are two Hyatt's in Toronto. Typo I meant to correct.

Winnipeg is closing in on 1 million I believe, and Hamilton is well over 1/2 million people as is Quebec city. I would call those pretty large cities. The others are fairly large too by Canadian standards, especially when you add their respective surrounding municipalities.

I was just looking at large metropolitan areas without Hyatt's. Listing my choices off the top of my head for Europe and North America where I mostly travel.

Nothing in Iberia either (Spain and Portugal, plus Andorra and Gibraltar). The closest Hyatt is in Northern Africa.

Currently zero for Bogota, population over 8 million. Ditto for Medellin, population 2.4 million.

Though there is supposed to be a GH Bogota opening 2018.

Well, in large parts of Europe there are no Hyatt properties: Scandinavia, Iberian Peninsula, the Baltic States, large parts of Eastern Europe and the Balkans (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria Greece ...) ... it would be easier to name the few ones where there are Hyatt properties!

Africa is equally slim, even large traffic hubs such as Nairobi, Addis, Accra, Dakar, Lagos or Cairo don't feature any Hyatt properties ...

There's a Hyatt Place being built (or planned at least) for Kelowna. Actually a decent amount of hotel construction there as a HIX is going in next to the Fairfield. Im surprised it's a market Hilton hasn't entered yet.
