"That IBM rate is valid with IBM ID at check in"
I called the Globalist line and received this intel when trying to book an IBM rate for London hotel. I do consulting with IBM and actually have ID, but for those who are not "real IBM" -- this sounds like a new policy.
(Up til now, I was only asked for IBM ID at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.)

Clearly "ibm rate" is so fraudulently used, your posting a thread.

Good on Hyatt.
Nothing like a crackdown during high season when the rack rate is off the charts to get the fraudsters thinking twice.

Just because properties have never enforced this doesn't make a "new policy".

It's standard practice but just not always enforced.

Always have been asked for IBM/LVMH. As a consultant I have badges but anywhere ex domestic they tend to ask.

I was asked for the first time at Paris for my AAA membership card.
