Thanks, very true. I already have 7 nights that'll roll over to next year and with my WoH CC + $15k spend for the free voucher, I'll get 7 + 5 + 6 = 18 EQNs in 2021 ==> I'd need 42 EQNs, which means a 21-night year-end mattress run to get globalist until 2023. In YYC, it's around 88 CAD / nt, so 21 nights = $1848 CAD and I get 1409.61 * 20 = 28192 points (US$563.84 at 2cpp) + 100 GC ($100) + 4 TSUs (100 * 4 = $400) + cat 1-7 ($500) + cat 1-4 ($250) = -$404.84 USD, meaning at my valuation I get $400 back in my pocket Hyatt account + globalist until 2023. That solves my question.

If you're points rich then it might make sense to book cat 1 with 5k (3750 with rebate) instead of cash, otherwise you're essentially buying points/certs. I'm doing 20 nights and I'm more than happy to spend 75k points at cat 1 to get the milestones rewards and globalist. I use 1.5 cpp valuation however, so ymmv

53 nights YTD, with 9 booked, Cat 1-7 cert and 2 more TSU. I’m not sure I’ll hit 70 milestone with CC spend.

I should start 2021with 11 nights from double nights promotion.

Yeah no kidding. Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit 4.5k THB while Athenee, JW Marriott, and SGS are 2.5k THB? I will not overthink this.

I would like to go to Thailand next year but for that reason, Hyatt is not on the horizon so I need to load up on Hyatt nights October-December 2020 to make as much progress as possible NOW for 2022 qualification. So far 25% of the way to Globalist, more progress to come in the next 2.5 months.

I'm at 8 nights YTD. I'm still traveling for work but to places where Hyatt's footprint is much worse than Hilton, Marriott and IHG so it's been hard.

I closed out the year with 60 nights even with a 5-night stay concluding December 31st.
  • 5 Credit Card base nights
  • 18 Credit Card spend-based nights
  • 4 Award nights
  • 33 Paid nights (plus four additional nights from Prive 3rd Night Free that didn't count)
I didn't have a single business trip this year with an overnight stay so all activity was for leisure.

I had four nights prior to COVID starting, then all the rest from June 30th onward. With the promotions, I earned around 93,000 points from my 33 nights during COVID. The majority of my COVID nights were at the same hotel, Quirk Charlottesville, but I did get to check out a couple new places as well (Ocean City MD, Chapel Hill NC, and others). Hopefully this coming year will see a bit more variety!

If local hotels would lower their rates fine but as it looks like right now I’m closing 2020 out with 100+ Marriott nights.
Hopefully, you kept looking. The GH Bangkok was THB1991 in December, as on Jan 2 I finished a 15 night stay, so while I don't have any Hyatt nights for my 2020 qualification, I do have the 15 plus the 2x for 2021, posting soon I hope. Patience is my only virtue.

As soon as the bonus nights post, I'll be requalified. Twenty-nine more to reach sixty.

Are you referring to "rollover" nights, or the double nights for stays concluding in 2021?

Looking for data points on how quickly the double nights are posting. Have a 13 night MR later this month (+5 CC nights already posted), followed almost immediately (before promo ends) by two stays where Globalist would be extremely valuable. Trying to get a barometer check on how quickly the double nights will post to trigger Globalist, or whether it truly will be after the promo ends.

Any DPs would be helpful!

The bolded [mine] are the same. Regardless of whether the nights occurred in 20 or 21 the matching nights will likely post at the conclusion of the promotion.

I would expect it to post after 2/28. Selfishly I hope that's the case so those globalist-lites will compete with true globalists a little later.
