First time qualifying on spend - I'm 66 points short of globalist - $13.20 USD...
Trying to decide if I go grab a meal at a local hyatt, put off requalifying until the end of the year to maximize my certificates or just do a quick stay on one of my next trips.

Seems like an outdated refrain: The Cat 1-7 now expires 6 months after requalification (still can be a tight deadline to 'max' them out), but the 4 TSUs expire February 29, 2020 no matter if you qualify today or December 31st this year.

Yeah - they've made a lot of positive changes, but that one still bugs me. I forgot all about it until I got my Cat 1-7 and saw the exp date. It's really out of alignment with the rest of the program, but such is life.

No longer necessary. Now your suite upgrades last until the end of the Status year. (If you qualify any time in 2018, they last until February 2020). Free nights still have an expiration date based on when you earned them.

51 nights for the year. 4 more to requalify. Need one more night for the current Hyatt points promo for 10 nights. No way I'll get another 10 nights in before Nov 30.
I'll try to get 60 nights incl my WOH credit card spend to get the bonus 1-7 cat night cert.

you don't need to get to 60 to get the free night if you got 60 last year. 55 is enough

At 59 nights, unfortunately given the insanity at Sparriott i am going to just concentrate my remaining stays at Hyatt. I wish there was a better benefit for going over 70, i have 30 nights of upcoming hotel stays and would easily requal for SPG plat but that thing is a mess.
