is it possible to check into a Hyatt Regency or Hyatt Place anonymously?

specifically, in LA and Chicago

The chances of being able to check-in without providing ID and/or a credit card are probably somewhere between slim and none, leaning towards the latter.

None... you can use pseudonyms though... but you'd still be required at checkin to provide forms of payment (plus deposit) and ID.

Given that hyatt is almost always (as of this year) asking for ID when checking in, you're odds are almost 0.

Well, unless you are a high government official of the US or other country, CEO of some highly valued corporation...

No, then again, you can always hire someone to check-in and pay for it with their credit card... you pay for it later.

Intriguing....

Safe travels...

I would like to know who gets the points if you do get to check in anonymously. Perhaps you can register a WoH account as Mr Anonymous?

They may not need to present ID but that's not really anonymous, isn't it?

Can you claim status benefits if you check in anonymously? Free wifi and water? Club upgrade?

Questions like this can always be met with the one statement that is always true, "if you're asking, you're not that important"

In what name and how do you propose to pay?

The Hyatt Place part of the question was kind of a give away on that score

what a question by the OP... if someone wants to check-in anonymously, then there's something fishy.... what is there to hide?

Dont forget there are less nefarious reasons to want to do this like domestic abuse.

I'm not overly familiar because I haven't used it but couldn't this be accomplished with Hilton Mobile check-in and digital key?

Most hotels allow you to be registered after a different name, celebrities do this all the time so if anyone calls or asks at front desk unless you use the pseudonym you will be told "There is no guest under that name."

Of course, this predominantly applies to Park Hyatt.

You still have to provide a cc and photo ID.
