Hyatt.com will often not show suites under corporate rates, but there is a rate filed & available for booking when you call.

For instance, corporate rates at HR Lake Tahoe never show the cottage suites but the cottage suite under the corporate rate plan is available to those who call.

This is normal. An agent explained this to me -- they are simply booking the room at the full price to take it or of inventory. Within a matter of hours, it gets manually updated to the correct price.

The issue is that the agent applying the TSU can block the room, but can't change the rate. So they get the suite at the "suite rate" and it goes into a queue where people who can adjust the rate change the rate back. It could certainly be implemented and displayed better but it's really not that big of a deal. At the end of the day you get your suite at the correct price.

True, but it would be nice if Hyatt IT was "smart" enough to recognize a "cancel and replace" and transfer all customer preferences (like an applied TSU, if not other preferences) to the new confirmation... but then it is Hyatt IT so let's not get ahead of ourselves with expectations.



In always looking for a silver lining, I guess I can say Hyatt IT sure is better than Hertz IT


Anyways, thumbs up to recent posters here in prompting me to do my checks.

I have recently completed a 4-night stay at the Churchill. The tier upgrade was confirmed into a Regency suite with a balcony months before my arrival. Great stay!

i was discoverist 2018.

2019. I qualify for Globalist in June 2019.

I feel I should have 4 TSU’s thru Feb 2020.
4 TSU’s March 2020-Feb 21’

I’m being told u have 4 total thru March 2021.

I need a T&C wizard to tell me I’m wrong.

Totally wrong way to look at it.... you can get up to four more with same expiration date for every ten additional nights you stay this year. If you hit 60 by June you’ll easily hit 100 before end of year netting you 4 more. Plus when you hit 50 next year you’ll immediately net 2 more that don’t expire till 2022! Then 2 more at 60 nights and so on.

Think about it another way. You qualified for Globalist which gets you 4 suite upgrades (I know it's not technically linked to glob anymore, but for arguments sake...). Why should qualifying for the first time net you 8 upgrades when everyone who is requalifying only gets 4?

Another way to look at it - 21 months of Globalist benefits, vs. just 13 if you had qualified December 31st. Nice of Hyatt to let the benefits start right away...

How long does it usually take after you complete a stay in which a TSU has been applied for the TSU to get marked as redeemed in your Hyatt account?

Do hotels occasionally fail to actually "redeem" TSUs after a TSU stay has been completed?
