On the phone with the over seas office right now. Changing an old DSU at the Grand Hyatt kauai to a new one. After some confusion and not understanding exactly what I was trying to do, we got it done.
2 upgrades show that they have been removed from my account.

I will be calling the hotel directly later today to confirm!

Just got of the phone with an agent in the US; she said that she can't see availability for upgrades for C+P bookings in her system yet. I'll try in a little bit. We're staying at the GH Kauai next week.

[Update] Called back about an hour later and spoke to another US rep; she was able to pull the cert and get our upgrade confirmed. ^

Was told by CS that we cannot apply DSU for a part of a stay. She had it has to be available for the entire stay. Said there has to be a 24hr gap if you book under different reservation.

What happens you get the DSU applied and then book the rest of your stay under different reservation/s?

Had to call again for mine. Points were put back in my account and only the standard suite price appeared in the confirmation. They now sent a new confirmation which only shows the cash part of the cash and points with suite upgrade applied. Don't know how this will work at check with a cash and points reservation with the points applied as zero. Something is still messed up. Also the diamond line phone number no longer works. It eventually transfers to a general agent with an announcement to call the new number on the WOH card which I have not received.

Obviously I called the number which I used hours before to apply the upgrade. Without warning that the number was changing, why would I assume it would be cut off? It transferred the call but not based upon status. Not going to bother to call a third time. They will eventually figure out they need to take the points again or the system will continue to be messed up and never claim the points. I told them the problem. I am not going to waste any more time now.

I got the change email that indicates the suite in the room type at the higher rate but at the bottom it says SUITE UPGRADE award but I still have 4 total. Is this normal?

Weird - I was able to do this just fine. Had a one-night C+P and a three-night AAA rate booked back to back, and they were able to upgrade all 4 nights to a suite, and they claimed they used just one suite upgrade cert (though none of my used GSUs have been removed from my account yet so I can't verify).

Well--I was 1/3 this morning. Park Hyatt Mallorca--Award Stay was able to confirm. Park Hyatt Seoul--award stay. When they called property to confirm, computers at property were down with new system so unable to confirm.

For GH Kuala Lumpur--P+C stay, unable to reserve showing no released availability for confirmed upgrades (plenty of rooms for sale). I assume the hotel is blocking upgrades since it is over the NYE holiday.

Agent was great--did the best she could for sure.

Just spent 50 minutes on the phone trying to use a Tier Suite Upgrade (formally known as DSU) at the GHK. First agent wasn't aware that you could apply a TSU to a points award reservation (which is fine, this is day 1 of WOH, so I get it).

I was transferred to a supervisor, who quickly said the entry suite wasn't available. After challenging that, and sharing that I was viewing the Garden Suite as available online to book, he acknowledged it and then spent 30 minutes trying to book it.

The supervisor came back saying there was an IT problem, and that he would get it resolved later today. He did give me a corporate reference number (whatever that is), but I still feel nervous that someone else may book the suite on the dates that I am targeting. While the supervisor was very friendly and apologetic, I don't feel good about this at all.
