DSUs were "simple and quick?" In what program???

What you describe is exactly what often happened under Gold Passport. Probably half my DSUs I had that exact experience.

Not my experience. My call was never transferred to someone else, confirmed right away with correct room rate, and no need to call back to follow-up, period.

Same problem - my PH Seoul shows the suite rate and I still have all 4 DSUs. It's been 3 days and no email.

Went to @Hyatt_Concierge on Twitter to apply these as I read the horror stories about calling in, and I no longer know the right number to call anyway.

They were both P+C stays, rate stayed the same, everything seemed fine, then no emails for 2 days and no DSU's deducted from my account. Tweeted them back and told them this; got the emails, but I still have 4 Suite awards. Can I assume these 2 were just freebies and try to apply 4 more?

In the past dsu were not always pulled at the time of reservation - this seems to continue
I was assured that suite is confirmed wven with cert seemingly untouched.
(Btw fairmont is the only other program with confirmed certs and they also have a rather confusing confirmation process)

2. Applied to a 4-night all points stay at the Andaz Amsterdam. DSU pulled from account, no points refund.

For what its worth, when I called in to apply the second DSU, I was told that emails were now taking up to 24-hours to show up and that it is based on when the property itself confirms? Not sure about all that but I received that email about 12 hours later.
When you log into the website, do your reservations show the correct room type, i.e. suite? I was told this was not possible on an all points reservation by three different agents.

As was I! Mine still shows King, but agents have stated that the suite is confirmed with the hotel. I guess we will find out when we get there.

The entire process is cumbersome and lacks transparency. I was told on several calls the reservation must be adjusted by "another department," "WoH Specialists," and the best one, "India." I was also told the normal time frame is within two hours, but is currently taking up to 24 hours, and one agent told me, "up to 5 days, at most."

I hope they get this process sorted and properly train their agents. It was painful 3 day fiasco for me to book 2 reservations.

I thought I had posted this earlier, but apparently failed to hit submit. When I asked my PL (Concierge) agent about the email not showing the new room type, this is the response I got:

With the new procedures for using a suite upgrade with all points, we have to call the hotel and have them block the suite on their end and we note on the reservation whom at the hotel blocked the suite. So when you see your reservation, it looks like you are in a regular room, but be assured you are blocked into a suite.

NO JOY.

Tried to use 2 DSUs on a 10 night P+C stay at the PHT in April.
No availability.

After the call, double the points were deducted. It's been over 8 hours now and the points haven't come back.

Guess I'll call in a couple of days if my points don't come back.

Not really surprising is it? Peak travel time and just 4-6 weeks for your stay...

It's a shame that, at least this year, the TSU's are awarded on March 1st. And really a bit shameful that you couldn't use the old ones for stays after Feb 28th...

I've had a disastrous experience with Hyatt in Australia.

Thirty six hours ago I phoned to make changes to several reservations. The first was to apply a TSU to an existing four night stay, three P+C and one revenue. I received a revised confirmation showing the suite applied only to the revenue night and, just like others, the full suite price as the new daily rate.

Second, I had an existing four night P+C reservation. I wanted to make two nights completely an award and the remaining two nights P+C. I also wanted to apply a TSU. I received a revised confirmation showing only a two night reservation at the full award rate and no TSU applied.

Third, I wanted to add a TSU to an existing four night reservation, three P+C and one revenue, as above, I received no revised confirmation but online the reservation shows as only the revenue night in a suite and, you guessed it, the full suite rate.

Fourth, I wanted to cancel an existing three night award stay. That was done. Some things, apparently, are easy.

Fifth, at the same property as the fourth, I had a one night revenue reservation that I wanted to add two award nights. This hasn't happened. So at the moment I've only got one night. The proverbial will hit the fan if, by the time Hyatt gets around to (if ever), award nights are no longer available.

All in all, a dog's breakfast and certainly far, far more difficult then I've ever experienced with Hyatt.

^Truth, brother.

I had 4 from last year expire worthless. If I had had more lead time (with usable DSUs) for this April stay, I probably could've gotten at least one 5 night block at the PHT. As it is, they had only 2 nights available in the middle of my stay and, once I have my office set-up in the room, I would never move twice just to get a few nights in a suite.

I wouldn't feed my dog what Hyatt is serving.

Seriously though, it's an awful lot of software bugs for the launch of their new flagship program.

My TSU was never deducted from my account, but I did receive the email after I kept calling to ask where the email was. Like a previous post above, I was told since my booking is all points, my revised reservation won't show the room type with a suite. It will only show the original room booked with points. In the preferences section, it says a suite upgrade was applied. I was told that on their end and on their computer, the hotel and Hyatt sees a suite upgrade was applied. They said this is how it's going to work for points + TSU bookings. So I guess I should just hope for the best?

On a separate note, I posted earlier about wanting to apply a TSU to part of my reservation (points + the free cert) and not being allowed to because the entire TSU has to be used for all the nights on the reservation. When I called back, the agent canceled my two bookings and made a new booking with both the points + free cert and was able to apply the TSU to part of my stay. I didn't need to split my reservation into two like I was told earlier via Hyatt Concierge on Twitter and a separate agent on the phone. I guess it depends on who we get...

I have made five phone calls and spent over three hours on hold trying to sort out my upgrades. No one seems to know what's going on. I sent an online complaint and received a follow up email asking for specific issues, which I sent back two days ago - nothing back other than two auto responses that they received my follow up email. I'm curious what Hyatt's plan is to make this right. It would have been nice for them to work out all these issues before rolling out this new program.
