Diamond / WOH requalification

My wife Is diamond and for this year she has 44 nights and 20 stays.

If I am correct the requal period ends tomorrow and she will be downgraded.

Does anybody know of ways to keep diamond or of any good faith shown by GP folks?

All advice is greatly appreciated

yes we all know ways to keep diamond: stay the appropriate nights and stays.

She he will be diamond through the end of Feb and you can see that logging into the account.

That's 20% off the marker. I would hope they wouldn't match or lower the bar for a requal.

Good luck.

25 stays Jan 1 to Feb 28 2017 will requalify. After that it will take 60 nights.

Ive read where a few high spenders have called and been granted Diamond in the past. If she got 100k base points (that's base points) in 2016,they'll almost certainly grant her Diamond. A little less, they might. Much less and it would be highly unlikely.

Or 50 nights in January and February, but 60 nights will be needed to get whatever WOH is calling DSUs.

Not sure what advice you are expecting here, if there was a way to achieve Diamond status while falling way short of the qualifications, don't you think it would be well documented by now?

Unfortunately the question needed to be asked a few weeks ago, and our response would have been to do 5 1-night mattress runs.

Standards are standards. If they relax them, then word gets around the internet and Hyatt end up with a PR nightmare as other members ask why the bending of rules doesn't apply to them.

The only option now is to do 25 stays in January and February.

If you don't know how requalifications works the status will probably not mean that much to you....

Tough spot to be in with only 1 day left to re-qualify. Obviously better to plan for some mattress running in early December if necessary.

Unless your revenue spend was off the charts for the 20 stays, and even if so, I think it's pretty unlikely and unrealistic for 'good faith' to be shown when you've fallen a full 20% short of the requirement. That said, I have heard of longtime members needing 1 night being given some leeway.

$40k in spend on the Hyatt Visa (for 10 nights/5 stays) is the only way I can see this being done in one day. (Yesterday, a combination of 1 night stay + $20k spend would have yielded 6 nights.) Possible, but not practical.

Would be nice if they granted some leeway for your wife. But judging by their recent actions of increasing night requirements, GoH denials, etc...doesn't sound too promising.

There is also a number of over-lapping stays - probaly around 10 nights as well as around 2-3 reward nights missing from the total.

SHould I wait till early Jan and then contact the Diamond desk ?

You can always ask... but unless there's major revenue involved you simply didn't qualify.

Purely award nights don't count. You can't get credit for overlapping nights, that I know of.

If there are ACTUAL errors, then contact sooner, rather than later. You should have got on this a month ago...

Does anybody see their account updated to a new Diamond Membership Expiry date of Feb 2018?

As expected shows 2017 but wanted to check and see if this was a wider issue due to holidays.
