I think not unless they're taking that whole block.

I have heard US$1000 to US$1500 per night for the Park Hyatt Kyoto.

Half of what Aman Kyoto wants. "Reasonable"...but still pricing me out of there.

I'm guessing they will probably want 30k points per night? Does hyatt make award rooms available for new hotels or will they black out any awards? I'm looking at being there in late oct or early nov.

I just talked to Hyatt - you can call the hotel reservations team (by calling Hyatt) to reserve rooms now between 8am and 8pm Japan time. Also if you book by May 11th 4th night is free. Can't see any details as that's a bad link.

Whomever I talked to was confused - Hyatt Global thinks maybe they called the Hyatt Regency....

But the page is up even if bar bones....

As long as standard rooms are available you can book them on points. If the hotel plays games and only opens Deluxe Rooms and up then unfortunately the guest is SOL.

has anyone heard anything about this property in opening dates?

Mark de Leeuwerk has been named the GM here. Promoted from the hotel manager spot at PH Tokyo.

Had a big service failure under his watch in Tokyo and not thrilled to see him at Kyoto.

I am just waiting for them to start taking bookings already.

cm007d May 4, 2019 10:42 am

I am waiting for them to accept booking hopefully can use some UR to stay there when i am in japan in Feb. If not I need to find a backup place to stay the HR seems like a pretty bad use of points.

Information on rooms and pricing would be nice.

It was bad enough to have to decide between the RC and FS, now I have to wait to see what the PH will look like.

I have heard really good things about HR Kyoto. Why does it seem like a bad use of points?
