Guest of Honor in 2017?

Last year the GoH benefits were extended until the end of 2016, but I hadn't heard any updates until TPG stated that GoH will stay with Globalist members. Hyatt's new program starts in March 2017, which leaves a gap in January and February 2017. Any word on whether GoH benefits will be available for Diamonds at this time? My parents are going to Taipei in late Jan-early Feb and I would love to get them Diamond benefits at GH. FWIW, I won't qualify for Globalist in 2017.

HGP T&C, benefits, remains in place until 2/28, so GOH would as well.

I was just told by a phone agent that GOH would not apply to stays in January and February 2017. Has anyone had any experiences one way or the other?

That would be another silly thing to do, especially now that it's time to burn points.

Guest of Honor is listed as a World of Hyatt globalist benefit, so one would logically assume it would be valid for all of 2017. Unless they plan to change the program again...

For 2017, it will be known as the Guest of Dishonor. A person you designate will get downgraded to the worst possible room. If the guest buys one breakfast, you pay for 2. Internet access is not available. 😀

I also heard recently that a GOH reservation got denied for January 2017. The rep said GOH is ending on 12/31???

On 12/13 I made two separate GoH reservations for my parents for late-January 2017. No issues at all.

Typical Hyatt executional excellence?

I've made two GoH reservations for June 2017 without issue

I called a few min ago (in the wee hours of 12/31 Eastern time) to make a GOH reservation for mid-January and was told the GOH program "ended today" and will be brought back Mar 1 "depending on your status then." In my case, two Diamond members will be traveling, and I was just doing GOH because the points are all in one account. Since I have a workaround (point transfer), I didn't HUCA or push.

Seriously? Who comes up with this stuff?

DaveInLA Dec 31, 2016 2:23 am

Just called (early AM 12/31) to book GOH for my parents in early Feb for GH Taipei, and was told stays had to be before 12/31.

At this point, couldn't I theoretically book a reservation in my own name and have my father check in? This way, I can use P+C and upgrade to a suite as well.

It's just more proof how badly run GP really is...... dumb decisions at the top normally correspond with operational errors as well.

Just called today Dec 31 to book goh for February 2017. Agent first said they were told program "ended yesterday". I mentioned goh would continue under World of Hyatt program, she checked something then apologized and said it was continuing with no end date, Feb 2017 was ok.

So certainly some confusion but apparently should still work for Jan/Feb 2017
