Park Hyatt Jakarta REVIEW - MASTER THREAD

According to the staff at the Jakarta Grand Hyatt, a newly built Park Hyatt is supposed to open in 2017. I'd heard of the Hyatt Regency outside of Bogor (Sentul City?), now slated for 2018, but not about the Park Hyatt.

According to a quick google search, it shows as 227 rooms and suites, built by MNC Land as part of the MNC Media Towers. 57 floors for the entire building, plus 5 basement levels.

I wonder which will open first? PH BKK or PH CGK?

Sorry to take this off topic. I was in BKK two weeks ago. I couldn't believe the changes taking place at Central Empty. It seems there's a new focus on F&B. A lot of those high end shops that were there....gone.

One thing that was consistent as in the past....EMPTY.

I'd certainly think the PH BKK would be first. I know the previous GH CGK manager is attached to the PH BKK since the end of last year.

I'm just surprised at the quick rollout of the PH CGK. It seems these things drag out for 4-5 years, with multiple delays. Perhaps I'll see if I can get some pictures of the construction site in CGK.

I looked at it a few days ago. No booking is possible yet.

Given that it’s Ramadan now, I’d be surprised if it opens sooner than August.

Looking forward to Alila’s integration into WOH. That will give us 2 additional properties to stay at in CGK.

Looks like you are correct JC...website now changed to "Late 2019"
Stayed a few nights at the GH - asked at the club lounge if they knew anything about opening dates. They didn't...

I am working nearby - was going to try and stop by...was hoping to be able to stay during soft-opening (maybe even the 1st night) - but nope. I will be gone by end of August.
Also, I wonder if the entrance is going to be off the small side road (not off Jl. Kebon Sirah)? I went down that side street and saw a closed gate that appears to go to the lobby. If so, that might be problematic for access. It's a very narrow side street? But that is Jakarta...

The PH Jakarta has just established a Facebook page and opening date is still set for "Late 2019" as per their website.

Wonder if this is really going to materialize. So far it's "only" 2 years late.

Yeah well, kinda got used to it in this part of the world. PH BKK also opened years late but IMHO was worth the wait.

Maybe the PH CGK and PH AKL are having a race.

They newest schedule is more like February 2020. But we will see. I'm more excited about Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur which then will be the highest hotel in the world staying at floors 101 to 118 of the new skyscraper PBN 118 in Malaysia
