Hyatt Place Eugene, OR - REVIEW - MASTER THREAD

This may be of limited interest to most here, but I am thrilled. Now I can earn Hyatt stays when visiting family in Eugene. The hotel is being built west of the Oakway Mall. This is the second Hyatt property to open in the State of Oregon.

Eugene isn't strong on chain hotels, so this is real progress for people who care about points and stay/night credits.

Where's the other Hyatt? Near PDX airport?

Yes, near PDX at Cascade Station on the light rail line.

This is great news. Next step is a Grand Hyatt in SE Portland and I'm all set!

I'm looking forward to this as well! I go to Eugene for work a few times a year, so it'll be nice to have a Hyatt property for stays/points. Now if we can just get a Hyatt in Spokane, WA., then that would probably get me to diamond every year!

Yeah, that's a great idea too - Spokane desperately needs a Hyatt.

Any updates on this property? Seemed it was supposed to open Spring 2017? Tried to make booking for October and doesn't show up in reservation system yet.

I drove by last month while in Eugene. It still looks like it is months away from completion. This construction project is moving slowly.

There's also a Hyatt House in Portland. Not quote downtown, but a on tram line and near the river. So Eugene would make a whopping 3. :-)

Just finishing second stay here. Very nice property on 5th to 7th floor of a building on a peripheral pad on a large, new, upscale mall. Big gym, though windowless. Indoor pool. Enhanced breakfast offerings. (Roasted corn and black beans today on a rotating menu.) Very good service. First stay upgraded to a huge suite. Even regular rooms are better-appointed than a typical HP. Armoire + big two-drawer unit, desk refrigerator. Good sized bath. Wall HVAC unit with some ventilation ducting.

Joe Bob says "check it out".

Nicest Hyatt Place ever. Rooms are similar to other HPs. A real and well stocked bar. Outdoor terrace. Friendly staff. Convenient parking in the building.
