An intelligent system shouldn't list it as an option for an ineligible hotel in the first place...

I think that I would be really nervous and agitated were I counting on these last few stays of the year to requalify for Diamond, as I know some around here are.

My recommendation for those in this situation, or even in general, would be to printout your account prior to the change over, and make sure you keep the paper folios for your stays until year end. This way you'd have some record of what should have taken place.

Nervous and agitated? Really?

Just sort it out manually when everything is up and running again.

Yes! This is what I keep saying. Obviously Hyatt can manually change someone to Diamond (status matches) so someone who has the legitimate number of stays has 0 worries outside of having to make a phone call/send a message.

Maybe this explains why the 10% discount for gift cards came and went early this year.

Hyatt -- how about bringing that back after the site fully returns?

This is just what I was thinking: time to print HGP account information, including evidence of stays/nights during 2015.

If we buy points tomorrow, it's possible that they won't show up in the account until the beginning of next year?

I have 4 stays already booked from 16th to 20th. I understand I would not be able to book new hotel in this time frame. but can I cancel the bookings which I already made using points?

When I asked the Twitter rep that question they responded:

Similar response for me for a Guest of Honor booking I made:

During the outage, no changes, cancellations, or new award bookings can be made. If something should come up please contact us and we will be handling these on a case by case basis.

Then obviously that's not the one I'm referring to. I suggest just going through all the codes you may have read and trying them. I don't want to share here just in case it's seen by the wrong people and gets shutdown for those who know.
